Does that Dynamat really werk??? I got some of it but was too lazy to put it on. My sh*t never really rattled that much anyways (as long as the back seat was down) but I still want to know if it werks.

im goin with either the 4 JL W7 13.5s or 4 Eclipse 12s. id rather have the eclipses though. my whole system setups gunna cost like 8000.00-1000.00 so ima start diggin in the couch for pennies. tryinna hit atleast 160db. 130db is what a jet flying 100ft over land hits (sonic boom). world record is like 177.somethin, now tahts shits hard as fuck to hit. once youre in the 170s its hard to go up.

Yes I have problem is the DB tester only went to 130DB and my system is louder cause the meter peaked at 130 with the highs off and bass on, on the inside of the car. I work at radioshack so I just borred it for a sec hehehe. Anyhow here is what it looked like

xraided...with what you have, you would probably be anywhere between 145-155DB.

It's hard to say without knowing what kind of car you have...and if the back seats fold down.

With my old setup, I was doing about 148. I think I'm about 155 now. We'll see though...I'm gonna tune a few things and go compete this year.

Fold down seats in the back really work don't they? I always used to face my subs towards the driver seat instead of the opposite. My friend says it hits harder the other way. Anyone know the answer to this??

^^it hits harder facing out towards the back of the trunk. And GimpyPimp my seats do fold down but it was tested with the seats up. I own a 2001 pontiac sunfire coup. So I think you are right about the DB. 145DB-155DB

i got 2 series 1 fosgate 12's and a jensen 300 watt amp........wired the speakers parrallel to the amp to drop it to 2 ohms......so basically im running roughly 250 watts rms to each sub. bought the amp at a garage sale for 1 dollar..yes UNO DOLLARS LoL.....folded my back seats down to see if there was any bass increase, and knocked my driver window off track.....if you know what your doin (wiring wise) you can make the smaller shit pound like the big boys....to a certain extent anyways.

Thanks......yuh my sh*t used to pound sumthin' terrible with the seats folded down and subs facing forward. I never tried facing them towards the trunk.

^^^you loose base the way you have em. The subs need to be faced toward the trunk cause the sound bounces off the back of the trunk and disperces itself through the whole car.

I hit about 130db.
Competition System, but I dont go to competitions that much...dont have the time.

Once a system hits that hard...its not cool no more.
I've gotten tickets for bumpin on the damn freeway.
Sh hits that hard.

DBs are all relative to the situation. Higher the DB doesnt exactly mean a louder noise. you will feel it the higher the DBs though since DBs are just pressure measurements

^^you right on that one homie although anyone can have a loud system. But not many have the highs to keep up with the subs let alone have a trunk that does not rattle. Not becuase it aint loud but becuase there is dynamat stopping it. I got told by my homie who owns an audio shop out here today when I bumped my system, "FUCK THAT IS TOO MUCH BASS YOU CRAZY WITH THAT MUCH MAN YOU DONT NEED THAT MUCH" I wad laughin so hard. Dude installs systems and window tint all day but says my shit is too much.
