GOP critics branded the bill as yet another big-government "massive new entitlement program" that would have increased taxes and possibly kill jobs.

To pay the bill's estimated $7.4 billion cost over 10 years, the legislation would have prevented foreign multinational corporations incorporated in tax haven countries from avoiding tax on income earned in the U.S.

Bill supporters said that would close a tax loophole. Republicans branded it a corporate tax increase.
Damn that shit is horrible!

the republicans currently hold no power. Everything that has happened to this country in the last 10 years was voted in favor by the democrat party

Well, I guess I can't expect any American pride or hope to sustain the country on a gangsta rap message board

This bill should have been passed though? why?

most of those workers were laid off and their medical plans were stripped from them ..

the state didn't wanna help them out..some of them passed away due to the fact that they couldn't get enough help from the agencies they worked for and the state.

This is why this bill came in place, to help out those that weren't able to get help from the state and employers.

Some of you are retards..specially those republican idiots .....

Exactly. It SHOULD HAVE been handled at the state level. It's complete bullshit that New York isn't taking care of the people that did so much for complete strangers.

Repubs should pass it, but Dems should make the bill amendable. If they didn't go after the "no touch" 2/3 vote, it would have passed. So, it's kind of their fault.

And Wiener needs to shut his fuckin' face, seriously. That dude is an out of pocket asshole.
