BJ Penn totally dominated Matt Hughs to my surprise.
I missed the entire event but caught the main event.
Vitor's the new champ but a bitter win for him. The UFC definately needs to issue new gloves and a new rule for first round cuts.

Yeah it's a fucked up way to win but what can you say? Rules are what they are and that cut was ugly. The way I look at it, Couture's very lucky that left hand barely missed or else the fight would've ended for him in a much more painful way.

Anyways, I was shocked to hear the results for the Hughs VS Penn fight. Penn beat him by a rear naked choke in the first round. I was like, "What the fuck? Was it a fluke?".
I watched the re-run and it was no fluke. BJ tagged Hughs a couple of times prior to taking him down. How many people manage to put Matt Hughs on his back? Not many.
The way Penn passed Hughs' guard was impressive too. He punched Hughs right in the mouth and that probably dazed him a bit cuz Penn was able to take full mount on him with ease. And that lead to the choke. Very impressive....

The Tito versus Liddel fight should be interesting. Can Liddel take Tito out before he tires out by the end of the 2nd round?
We shall see....

Can't wait to see the Vitor VS Couture rematch.
Shit hopefully this injury is not career threatenning for Couture. The man has plenty of fight left in him....

Will Couture have to wait in line for his shot? It was a legitimate win on Belforts part, being that the punch was legal, so im thinkin that the winner of Liddel vs Ortiz will get a direct shot at Vitor. Vitor is a class act tho, he actually asked for a No Contest ruling because he didn't want to win the way he did... dude always impresses me.

Tito's cardio is beyond excellent, he can keep up the pace through 5 rounds and we've seen Chuck gas out before in the earlier rounds. Like Tito said since this is his first 3 round fight in a long time, he's going to be able to come out with more agressiveness.

I wont count Chuck out, but i see Tito getting the takedown early and finishing him with the ground n pound. Tito's game is really solid, and Chucks has been somewhat exposed.

I don't think we'll see Couture for a while now but you never know. He's probably itching to climb back in to the octogon.
Vitor will more than likely fight Couture next since the next UFC event is in April and that's where Tito will take on Liddel.
And then the next event will be 3 months after that, I don't think Vitor will wanna wait that long.
We'll see what happens, I'm sure it's gonna be interesting either way.

Yeah Liddel's gettin old very fast and I don't see him keepin up the pace with Tito. Tito will probably beat him by TKO late in the 2nd round or somewhere in the 3rd.

that pride card is looking pretty decent, but not as good as the past few prides. The next pride though is going to be awesome, as it will be the open weight GP tournament and is rumored to be as big as 16 people.
