Just wanted to know what your thoughts are on it, and what religion you're part of (if any).

I'm a Christian...Protestant. Brought up a Roman Catholic but made my own decisions since then. I try to follow my religion (I pray everyday but don't attend church) but the difficult part is.....what's right and what's wrong? Ever since Jesus died and God made the New Covenant with man, the bible isn't very clear on what is wrong. Is sex outside marriage wrong? Is breakin' the law wrong? Sure, the Government say breakin' the law is wrong (obviously) but I could fuckin' care less.....what I think is right is what I'll do..and I wanna let the bible & my own morals guide me in what I think is right. I hope I'm makin' sense there.

How does religon help in our day to day lives? I still need money, police still harass me, I gotta eat and pay bills, why should I rely on a religion when I will continue to have problems and bullshit in my life. I guess people rely on relogin so they won't take life that serious.

i was searching for something else and came across this....
i am a born again Christian. i used to be catholic as well. you know the things that are wrong. it says it in the bible. if you are unsure about something, pray about it, and you should find the answer in your heart sometime soon if you are sincere about it when you pray. the way to think is like this, if Jesus would not do it, it is sinful. i didn't know what the big deal was about them what would Jesus do bracelets until a year or two ago, but that is a good reminder. for instance, it is not sinful to be angry, to fight for a legitimate reason, such as someone is trying to take over your area, town.....more or less fighting for self defense. it is not sinful to drink liquor, but it is sinful to get drunk. it is sinful to have pre-mairtal sex. i am not completely sure what the definition of adultery is, but that's one of the things i thought fell under adultery. you should only have sex with the woman you marry, and if you divorce, that is it. no more sex at all then. it says in the bible, if she has sex with someone else after she is divorced even, it is still adultery. i don't know everything about the bible by any means, i am still relatively new to my faith. but if you have any questions, go ahead and ask and i will try and answer them or find the answer

Is it really a sin to have pre-marital sex tho'? Because loads of rules like that are up there in the Old Testament (including shit like "If you come into contact with a woman in her period, you must take a bath and not come into contact with anyone else until 6pm"). That's all part of the old covenant God had with man. Since the birth and death of Jesus Christ, there's just God's new covenant with man, and just two rules:
- Love the lord God, love him with all your heart, and love no other Gods.
- Love thy neighbour as thyself.
The 10 Commandments are still valid as if you think about it, they all boil down to those two rules....

Those 2 rules leave it up to your morals for the most part. They pretty much say that victimless crimes are OK. Your morals have to tell you what is a victimless crime tho' (ie is pre-marital sex, is gettin' drunk, etc.).
