The bible is a collection of books not just one book, and as far as no one knowing who wrote the books, you should look into it before you make that claim.
Well, maybe somebody does, but I doubt anyone will convince me that they definitely know for certain who is responsible for the Bible, so this really isnt worth debating to me.

You're right. I had him confused with "thatguy," but the point I was making stands. He said "It was most definitely a man" who wrote the Bible and that seemed to me to imply that the man was an eyewitness.

Troll saying "It was most definitely a man tho" does not imply an eye witness. What it implies is that a man, and not a "god" actually wrote it. He is simply saying a man wrote it, where as YOU are saying NO ONE KNOWS WHO WROTE IT. Again, his statement does not imply the author was an eyewitness, but that the author was simply a human.

I couldn't care less if anyone convinced you or not. The point is you made a claim that know one knew who wrote the various books, and trust me, it was NEVER up for debate, nor was it worth debating to me, but in the future make sure you get it straight before you put it out there.

Yes, and by saying it was most definitely a man, he appeared TO ME to be agreeing with the individual who said it was written by eyewitnesses. I was about to fall asleep at the time and probably shouldnt have been posting anything.

Fair enough, but I still dont think I'm wrong.

well the bible is written by eye witnesses so it is arguable that the bible is fact as well, you just chose to believe what a scientist tells you he witnessed in his research rather than what an apostle or someone of that nature seen.
reproducibility, the cornerstone of science.

Just curious - is it not up for debate because you know who wrote them and refuse to think otherwise, because you're certain that no-one knows who wrote them and thus the argument is pointless, or for some other reason?

I couldn't care less about satsifying your curiosity.
Reow! I wasn't being facetious or condescending, I was actually curious. And you supposedly want to 'educate' people, tut tut.

Does that mean you don't know the answer? I've come to rely on you as an important source of christianity-related information. Providing answers to such questions may increase the cogency of your argument. I'm not here to debate your answer, whatever that answer may be, but to simply read it. Hell, you could say that a dirty old dark-ages hobo wrote the bible, I wouldn't know any better!

You don't strike me as a stand up kind of guy, so I don't consider you a person that needs to be educated.

Does that mean you don't know the answer?
No.

I've come to rely on you as an important source of christianity-related information.
Thankyou.

I have no argument (in this thread), so nothing needs to be increased. Besides, XXtra has basically said he'll never be convinced, but if I answer your question what will it prove?

I'm not here to debate your answer, whatever that answer may be, but to simply read it.
In this thread I've yet to debate anyone, and to be honest I'm not trying to. The reason why it wa snot up for debate is because I chose to not debate it, cite sources, give names etc.

Hell, you could say that a dirty old dark-ages hobo wrote the bible, I wouldn't know any better!
1 Corinthians 1:18

THAT is your answer.

It is possible that I could be convinced, however unlikely it may be, but as it stands, I am not convinced that anyone actually knows who the author(s) of the Bible is. But as we have both stated already, its not really worth discussing at any great length.

^THE AUTHOR IS..................................................NEVAMIND. JUST KNOW THE BIBLE IS A COLLECTION OF BOOKS, WRITTEN IN DIFFERENT TIMES, ALL IN HARMONY. THE WORD "BIBLE" ITSELF TELLS YOU WHAT IT IS.
