the beats are what caught me at first wen it came to bay shit. and the style that we have.

damn i remember i heard I'm A Player and Rapper's Ball wen i was in 3rd grade, then So International by B-La in 5th Grade, not knowing they were from the bay at all. but that was kinda around the time i didn't appreciate music as much as i do now. back then i would just act an ass to music like that.

I won't even lie i didnt know of Mac Dre until he died but i really picked up on his music.

ever since 7th grade i picked up heavy on bay shit. bumped nothing but if for two years but finally learned to broaden categories since im white as hell.. such as listening to electronica, mellow acoustics, etc. lol still bump the good bay shit though.

what got me into it was the style, the content, the sampling, and how beats here were made for subs and serious slap, while east coast for example was made for headphones....

bay related

Tha Bay has FLAVOUR...
Tha Bay stays FRESH with it..
Tha Bay keeps my mind entertained.

Too Short, Ant Banks, Spice, Sick Wit It, Rompilations, 4 Tay, DD,
Jay Tee, Playas Association, Jhonny Z sounds, PsD, Suga wolf Pimp,
Explosive MODE, Million Dolar Dream, RBL, JT the Figga, 3x Crazy,
The Crestside shit, Nickatina, Equipto, East CO CO, MobFigaz...the list could go on for a while.
One thing is clear, the bay is on its own level, cool with it.
Beats, slang, brains, attitude, pride.....
The Bay breaths HIP HOP.
