I do stick with that, but some of my more advanced producer homies give me ish cuz it isn't as "Advanced" as Reason and I could do more with Reason. They like what I do with FL but hatin' on it. LOL I'm hella sick with FL, everytime I make a beat I find out new things I can do with sounds. The options are endless. See, I do alot by ear, I don't know what is the recommended levels for anything. I do it all by ear and FL is an easy platform in my oppinion to do that with.
Fuck what your homies think, dog. Their just kind of jealous, that's all. I hooked up one of my homies with FL7 and he makes some amazing musical $hit. He surprises me because he's not even good at using computers. lol I mean if your good, your good, the programs/hardware you use don't really matter. It's all a matter of personal preference. Like you said, FL is very deep and quite easy to work with. I learned a lot from using FL, from sound design (synthesis), to just teaching myself how to play the keyboard. I do everything by ear as well, but by using FL so much, it has been a great tool to learn with, while in the process of making beats. Since it's all loop based, I think that makes it easier to fuck with.

Boo Boo what do you mean by loop based? are you using pre made loops
No, I don't use loops. Well, atleast I prefer not to, I'm not that good at working around drum loops and sampled melodies, making them fit properly and what not. I prefer to build up my own drum loops with single-shot sounds. Same thing with melodies, I prefer to make my own. Not because I'm trying to be original or prideful, just for the fact I'm not that good at working with large samples. There's only one program (VST) I like working with loops and it's called "Reflex" and the only reason I like it is because it automatically chops up the loops and converts them to midi, so I just have to paint in the midi notes to execute the sound.

What I mean is that the sequencing is based on Patterns. Those patterns are always "looping." Basically I make my own "loops" (Patterns), then re-arrange those patterns in the playlist to form the full song. Pat1 might be the drum beat, Pat2 a variation of the 1st drumbeat, Pat2 a bassline, Pat3 a variation of the bassline, etc... Basically I build my $hit up into blocks (all the elements of the song), segment by segment, rather than all in one big piece. So that's pretty much what I like about FL Studio, I think it makes it hella easy and fast.

I make all my own loops and drum kits I'll combine a dre kick with a lil john clap and a timbaland hat or any variation thereof. With FL7 or any of them for that matter, the possablilities are endless, effects and such can change any ordinary sound into something totally different. I've made the generic claps sound like a fat guy falling in a mud puddle and tracked it out to be a hit, so work with what works for you and don't let anyone tell you how or what to do and learn what you want from your ears. My homies hate on FL but they still buy beats from and luv em so why do I need to change?

You can't. It saves it in wav format, from there you'll need a mp3 encoder, to well hmm, encode it to mp3. Make sure to turn off the metronome when your exporting your song, if not, you'll have the song with the metronome.

I use an old version of soundforge to convert, there might be a lot of freeware that could do it also.
