Delonte West is decent at best...
See that may be true, but in my opinion he has alot of skills, but he's unproven and definitely not the smartest PG out there.

HOWEVER: He's a PG that can block and play defense, a PG that can put up 30, a quick PG that can hit clutch shots...

Get him some time, especially with Green and Durant he should be better.

and they just got P.J. Carlismo as coach, and that guy will help West's game also.

Also: Wally Sczerbiak is a capable solid player.

They have 4 guys able to go for 30 any given night, think about the fact that West and Green are also amazing passers...and they do have potential.

EDIT: I said 2-3 years. When Green and Durant mature, they are capable of leading a team. I do agree they need a solid free agent now, but they really won't in 2-3 years. Maybe I shouldn't have said "amazing" but count them into the playoff picture in 2-3 years.

I still say Durant and Green will be amazing though.

see As much as I love durant, I don't even see them in the playoffs in the West in two or three years, cause its stack'd and theres no way denlote west is gonna get 30 on the regular with Durant/green as 1st and 2nd options...

shit Martell Webster is capable of 30 a game but it RARELY happens if ever lol, tons of players that CAN put up 30, thats means nothin

my definition of amazing Is what PHX, SA, DAL can do. If you think seattle will be there in two or three years your sadly mistaken.... Even in the playoffs in two, three years, the only way this won't happen is if Kevin Durant just flippin show stops on the who League

and yes I know i herd you said maybe you shouldn't have said amazing, but you know what you ment..

I guess it just comes down to I'm bigger on West and Durant than you.

I'd just like to add: Jeff Green is going to be something very very special. Seriously.

Anyway you say 2-3 years: Sonics are a 30-35 win team, I say a 45 win team. We shall see.

LOL U GIVIN DELONTE WAAAAAY TOO MUCH CREDIT. SEATTLE IS STUPID. I DONT LIKE HOW THERE CHANGIN DURANTS POSITION. I KNOW HE CAN DO IT ALL, BUT MOVIN A GUARD TO FORWARD COMING IN TO THE LEAGUE DOESNT SEEM SMART TO ME. IF SEATTLE STILL HAD RASHARD LEWIS THEN THE TEAM WOULD BE A KOO TEAM BUT AS OF RIGHT NOW. ALL THEY HAVE IS 2 UNPROVENS AS THEIR STARS

They won't be much this year...but they WILL be quite the team within 2-3 years.
That is EXACTLY the problem. Seattle needs to win NOW. They cant be missing the playoffs or mediocre for the next 2-3 years. If they do, then bye-bye Seattle Sonics and Hello Oklahoma Sonics. The only way to get a stadium built here in seattle is if tickets start selling big and the only way that is possible for a Seattle sports team is by winning.

Thats why a lot of people in Seattle were left scratching our heads by these moves and left wondering if the owners are really trying to win here in seattle, or if they are trying to build a team of the future in a different city...

Think about it- they could have had a winning team next season and likely make the playoffs. Durant, Allen, Lewis, Wilcox plus a point guard. That squad alone would likely make a 7 or 8 seed.

I agree with you all the way, I forgot about how good Wilcox can be on Defense.

BUT the owners are planning for the future, letting Lewis go is unnaceptable yeah but letting Allen go for Jeff Green, Sczerbiak and Delonte West is perfectly ok with me,

Imagine Wilcox, Durant, Green, Lewis and West as a starting 5. That's a potential eigth seed off the bat.

Without Lewis they have to make Sczerbiak start, and he's much more lethal as a 6th man that can come in and hit big shots.

So I made a bunch of valid points and because you have nothing left to go on you try to call me on that?

Delonte will be a All-Star caliber player with the right coaching, he has the talent IMO.

Kevin Durant - Sky's the limit. At worst he wins a few scoring titles, at best: Top 5 players of all time. No one has his game. He's a combo of T-Mac, MJ and KG...Really tho.

Man will folks stop comparing folks to Jordan or sayin they got MJ game!! Durant wont be a sniff of Jordan, but he should be a tight player!! But Jordan come on!! Leave that name out of it!! Got Em!!!

I'm saying his game has similarities to MJ's, I'm not saying he's going to surpass him.

Green and Durant will be good enough to lead a team in a few years.

Seattle will be a 40-45 win team soon.

If they kept Rashad LEwis they could have been a eight seed this year.

etc.

damn those are great 'valid' points you have......I don't know how 'valid' those points are right now....

and you still didn't give me any 'valid points' on why you think Denlote West will be an all star in the feature... which was what I was talking about.

Delonte West has the tools to be a complete player. A passing, stealing, blocking, clutch shooting PG. He has shown all of those skills in the past and with the right environment can put them all together.

haha but my OPINION is that with the right coach, Delonte could be a damn good All-Star caliber PG.

My OPINION.
