You really gotta be jokin me man! They fell way off the credibility list ever since they have sold out to the radio format! Plus I live in VanCity right now, I see those dudes at the club (they are a bunch of posers, especially prevail)! The dude need to get his bi-focals on straight before he goes off acting like he hot shit!

THE gAME BEEN WATERED DOWN. AND L-MAC-A-DOCIOUS MADE TOO MANY PERFECT POINTS. EVEN THE UNDA-gROUND IS gETTIN' WATERED DOWN.
everyones out for self, the people who originated hardcore rap (lynch, sicx, raided, spice, bo, 40) have all been copied a million damn times on a million different damn cds/labels/producers. Alotta flows sound the same and none of the material is ever ground breaking shit. the underground its tryin to follow somethin like a formula for success but its been used up and spit out too much already. West coast/East coast all got the same problem.

Rapping about how tough you are, how much money you have and all the ladies you have fucked became old ten years ago, to keep my attention they need to go deeper than that and stop repeating themselves.
I'd rather listen to El-P's "Stepfather Factory" then 50 cent's "In da Club".

I don't care what clothes rappers wear, I don't care if they have acted like retards and spent time in jail or got shot, I don't care about how drunk/high they are and I don't care if they've grown up poor if they now spend a million dollars on jewelery.

Hip-hop needs to grow up, luckily though there are labels like Mush, Rhymesayers and Definitive Jux amongst others that aim higher and that aren't afraid to experiment.

You could also place blame on the flood of talentless underground artists, who got protools and a mic, and figured themselves to be a star.
Everyone wants to be a star. The reason why so many people pick up a mic and put out an album is because is the easist form of music to get involved in.
So quick to pick up a mic, lets see you pick up some talent.

Droopy eye your sig is fuckin scary... aint that bitch the one who tried to look like a cat for her hubby or suttin? fuckin rich bitches.

as for all these industry tricks and switch hitters they can miss me... Like ol boy said thats for the lame ass mtv generation to worry bout not me..

theres a grip of other genres im into anyway, funk, rock, dub, soul....

can you define talent? the ability to play an instrument? the ability to sing.. or just adapting your REAL life or out the box concepts into yo shit?

when i think about this... most of these commercial cats have to get their coats and call a taxi ya feel?

This falls under a thread I made in the hip hop section. People are too much on this "Give the people what they wanna hear" bullshyt. Theyre so much on that shyt til they just cant come out and present their own style in their music. Every rapper is trying to talk about whats hot at this moment. Its pretty dumb to me. Cus people fail to realize that when you come out on the same style as everyone else, you will fade with that style. Like this crunk shyt, everybody is tryin to do it now...what they dont see is, when Lil Jon play out, they will too. Thats why its good to be the originator of your own style because that style will live and die with you. 2pac for instance, the whole thuglife thing. It was cool to rap about when he was doin it, people was blowin up left and right if they talked about being a thug around that time. But as soon as Pac was killed, didnt nobody wanna hear about no thuglife no more. So therefore, everybody else who talked about it wasnt really heard from. Thats because that style lived and died with Pac. That further proves why u should bring your own style to the table. Thats what wrong with rap today. We might as well fire every other rapper and let one person rap if everybody gone talk about the same thing. Aint no point in hearing the same shyt from a bunch of different people.

another thing i've noticed is a bunch of the people that run around screaming how hip hop/rap sucks right now are the same motherfuckers bumping cd-rs designed with a sharpie (choose your color). how do you expect people to come up if their cds are getting bootlegged?

Cd-R's are the only way for some of us to get that artist, because either the cd is out of print or you cant find it in your area( artist has no place to buy it) So cd-r or e-bay. Rap has left a great deal behind and whats behind is tight and thats the underground. Alot of people ask others if they would tell 50 jay and others that they were whack. Yes i would what are they going to do fight me or try and shoot hell no they have 6 million bitches who ride their nuts. So you have to understand that the only way to stop it is to stop buying it and then artists will have to work hard for it. TO the question do i own a multi-platinum cd? Nope not one all my shit is underground I dont buy multiplatinum shit only undergound. now there is rappers who come out and climbed the ladder and are still tight (3-6's Lord Infamous) and they will always be tight.
