Rap has fallen down bad and its because of bitches(females) and white jocks who buy rap because they think its cool not for anything else. I feel like rap needs to be put back in order. Tell people prove that 50 and Eminem suck and that their bitches Ludacris, Puffy, G-Unit, Kayne West an twista just to name a few that disgrace the rap art form we created and put down. Remember CMW, Gangstarr, Prophet Posse, B.O.N.E, Brotha Lynch, Del, D.E. this shit up to Del was tight in the day but fell off royally due to these bitches buying bullshit. Del, D.E., Esham, MSane, C-Lim, Jedi Mind Tricks, Battle Axe Records, and others still keep the real shit going we need to get back to that write who you can send e-mails call numbers until they get the point. Download as much as possible if your gay and like 50 and kayne west download their shit fuck paying for it. Iam still buying people like Del and D.E. (Just got FU today). Iam tired of this bullshit rap just fucking sick of it. This shit needs to stop. Unify or die in the 50's Ludacris, and Jay z's of the bitch game. Reppin real shit since day 1. Feedback.

if twista aint your cup of tea, then dont listen to him. bottom line, twista got 100 times more skill than half the rappers you listed.

i feel what he's saying to a certain extent. i can almost guarantee if Twista would've never got that deal he wouldn't be on that list. it's retarded to say that a rapper is fucking up rap or whatever just cause he got famous. what the fuck is that? that's the main point of most of the motherfuckers doing this is for money. and also just because a rapper is "underground" doesn't mean that he/she is tight or "keeping it real".

The only point a company understands is the one under a $$$ sign. Buy what you like but teenage girls and wanna-be ganststers will still outspend a truely talented artist with no big-name distribution or major label backing.

mainstream rap is made just to sell records, not to express emotions and thoughts, and if it dont do that, then it aint real music. most of the people you see on MTV are given identities, names, even physical apperances by record labels to give them a marketable image that will sell to 13 year old teenyboppers. you cant market people like brotha lynch/x-raided/dre dog/etc. to little girls in idaho because they have a real image. people like chingy/50/puffy just shit out mindless generic raps over platinum beats that make people want to dance. thats how you sell records. when the music industry realized that people were buying rap, they wanted to capatilize on this and thats why you have snoop dogg doing videos with britney spears and shit. all mainstream music is like this, they even have mainstream country songs. so i wouldnt say that theres been a downfall in rap, its just that people have found a way to make money off raps and theyre sticking to it. ive thought a lot about this sort of shit

See some people on here actually feel what iam saying as relates to rap. To that cat who was talking all that flim flam shit eat a dick. To the rest of you its like this i remember when rap wasnt the big thing where rappers like nelly and chingy would never have made it but since the emergance of everyone liking rap (moms, dads, Teen girls, and guys who know nothing of rap) rap has become a commercial playgroundto the rappers that should have been shot because they lack the talent to do anything with it. as far as people getting famous thats when their careers go down because they think that they dont have to work to hard now. Twista is a perfect example of this. Yes if he wouldnt have signed with Cock-A-Fella he would be still underground and also still tight, now hes making songs wiht child molesters and kicking it with gay dame dash twista has become fake its seems his songs all reflect bitches and thats not what rap is a bitch. But people like Kayne west, twista, Jay-z, Camron, Eminem, Dr. Dre, and 50 cent have turned the rap world into is a bitch now for those who stay underground good thats what rap needs and until the day rap goes back underground only expect it to get worse.

“And if you go platinum it’s got nothing to do with luck it just means a million people are stupid as fuck!” – Immortal Technique

My 2¢
I agree with Beendrinkin, however, I don’t entirely place the blame on the sell out rap artists, I place the blame on the industry- the record labels, producers, investors, MTV/BET, etc. The ones who decide who and what are going to be popular. The ones who decide that image is more important than music. The ones exploiting "gangsta rap" and stereotypical black culture.

This isn’t just true with rap music; it’s true for the entire music industry. Just look at music in general since 2000…no original artists. Maybe a few that leak through the cracks, but as a whole; it’s all about image.

Nah no chance. Hair bands and shit like that came from Rock music. Fans of that kinda Rock just evolved back into normal rock fans. There is nothing for Rap to evolve into.

Sorry if it sounds like I don't make sense but I know what I mean but just can't word it right.

Its all sad because i feel there is more of us then them but it all revolves around money and much like 2-0 Sixx said of mtv/bet. I watched rap city the other day and Ja Rule was on talking really stupid shit and iam thinking to myself give me a mic and a studio and i could be 10 times better lyrically but that wouldnt work because i wouldnt rap to please the masses.

You see...that is another part of the problem...because with the advances in recording capabilities, every Tom, Dick, and Hank, who's never touched a mic thinks that they can do it better than some fool on TV...well fucking do it then...don't make up some bullshit, mealy-mouthed excuse of "it wouldn't work because I wouldn't rap for the masses." Fuck that cop out bullshit...Maybe you do do it, and you make a good album and spark a new career, 9 times out of ten though you will be contributing to the massive build up of returned CDs at your local music store, thus watering down the current rap product being put out...either way, what's the point of complaining about this shit...its called the music business for a reason, people make money at it, and people want to make money at it...are you going to tell me that:
(A) You don't own one platinum artists CD
and (B) Say you do pick up a mic and make an album...and that shit hits, and MTV/BET/etc. wants to put you on and make you rich, are you gonna say no?
It goes back to what I said, if you don't feel it, don't listen...welcome to the music industry...everyone wants to eat.

"Question and Answer: Question what does a rapper do when he starts out hardcore but can't sell enough records to remain in the record business? Answer: he goes pop. This answer isn't set up to diss rappers who started out pop, But for all the rappers who started out hardcore and are now making weak ass dance music because they couldn't stay down with the hardcore. I just have a question for you. How does it feel to wake up every morning, look in the mirror and realize that your a fucking Hoe?" IcemuthafuckenT

This statement applies to countless industry prostitutes including but not limited to: 50 cent, Jay Z (who should have listened to more of the album before he lifted 99 bitches an underground classic), TWISTA, Dr. Dre, Snoop doggy, Fat Joe, oh yeah and of course LL.

I think of it like this that shit is not rap/HipHop its pop its not even music its a comercial for itself. It has no value exept getting drunk bitches sweaty just like disco. Even though MTV may try to legitamize it with sway "keepin it real" or having Hip Hop rememberance week its all bullshit because Yo still isn't back on the air.

Why do you think 2pac spit at these bitches.
