Good album of trip-hop. A bit more aggesive beat wise than Portishead, but a bit less than that of Tricky. She doesnt rap, just sings and the beats are nice.

Mono - Formica Blues

No, this is not the same post-rock band from Japan. This was the only album this group had and its a great trip-hop album. Much like Esthero's Take Another Breath, its all vocals over down-tempo beats. The first song, "Life In Mono" was a small hit in the US, bigger in the UK and one of my favorite songs ever.

An amazing soundtrack to go with an amazing movie. Its Baroque period themed classical musci inspited by Antonion Vivladi's Ah ch'infelice sempre.

I actually bought this about 2 years ago, and the CD case is fucking cool as shit. It has the sheet music for the soundteack and is like a little book. Appearntly, you can also DL this album for FREE, at the website for the movie. Who knew?

This band is fuckin awesome. They are post-rockish, psychadelic-ish, space rockish, and shoe-gaze-y....its hard to say which one fits the best, but they explore all of those genres. Thet do not have a Wiki page, but they do have a MySpace (i would link it, but i block it at work). They have a new album out called "Coastal" that i have not got yet.

This album actually isnt even out yet, it does so on the 5th of next month. This band is hard to put into one genre as well, as they do alot of different shit...stoner, psychadelic, rock...its a nice blend. Check them out.

Glos started out as a side project of Maura Davis and her brother Keeley Davis (Maura of Denali, Keeley of Engine Down) and is now Maura's full time band after Denali and her other band Ambulette split up. I'd call their music a mix of indie rock with some ambient thrown in here and there. Really good stuff, was in my top of 2007.

Balligomingo - Beneath The Surface

I like this album alot. Its somewhat like Enigma or Delerium, but not as earth-y or naturalistic. Similar beats with more traditional singing than that of the native chants and what have yous that some of the other bands in the same genre use. Heat is a real good song, my fav on here.

Sneaker Pimps - Splinter

Most everyone knows their first album, Becoming X, which was great and featured a soultry and hot lead singer of Kelli Ali. However, this album takes another turn with a male lead singer and a bit less electronic and more natural...but still keeping its trip-hip/electronica/down-tempo feeling...with a bit of rock and post pop. I like this album as a whole better and Lo Fi and Perfect One highlight this album. The lead singer, Chris Corner, also had a side project under the name IAMX..i have one of those if anyone wants it.

Denali is good, yes.

I dont like GLos becuase they dabble TOO much in a grey area as far as genre goes, so it ruins the experience becuase they are so torn. Pick a side, goddamnit!

This band is a huge influence on a lot of post-rock and math-rock bands. This is one of my favorite albums. Their first full length Tweez and self titled EP are amazing too, but Spiderland IMO is their masterpiece.

Another album that was just barely knocked off my top 20 of 2007. Rob Crow of Pinback's album Living Well. All his solo stuff is worth picking up as well as everything Pinback has ever put out (that should go without saying though.)

Here is my favorite album from singer-songwriter Andrew Bird. RJ you will more then likely dig this. Another artist whos catalog is all worth getting IMO, this album is my favorite though.
