Not sure if anyone would be interested in this, but noise musicians Bill Orcutt from Harry Pussy and Michael Morley from Dead C jammed in a small room in West Oakland for about 45min and released the recording on tape.

The Mountain Goats - Goths [2017]

Famed California-based folk rock outfit The Mountain Goats have announced their 15th album "Goths". It follows 2015's "Beat the Champ" -- an concept album about boxing and wrestling. The Mountain Goats have recently contributed the song "The Ultimate Jedi Who Wastes All the Other Jedi and Eats Their Bones" to the new Star Wars movie.

The album was produced by Brandon Eggleston and mixed by Scott Solter. The album will not feature any guitars or pitch-corrected vocals. The album is out May 19 via Merge.

Boo Boo is so damn good. It's a return to his older sythn-poppy sound which is what he's best at, imo.

"You and I" is one of the best songs he's ever recorded

Lots of really great albums have dropped this year but this might be my favorite release so far, at very least top 3. If you like reverb-drenched, synth laden, jams that sound like they could have been on the Drive soundtrack you'll more than likely dig this shit a lot.

Just listened to Dedicated to Bobby Jameson all the way through for the first time, so good. Not gonna say it's close to Pom Pom's level but after one spin it's up there with Lover Boy at least, maybe Before Today. Death Patrol and Dreamdate Narcissist are such great songs.

A few of the songs are reworks of older ones, Pom Pom had some too. Which is actually pretty cool to get to hear their evolution.

Title track for the new album 9 years ago...


Dude isn't gonna get the recognition he deserves until he dies.
