New to this site, but wanted to share some information I personally know also. So, I bought, and still have, his 1963 Chevy Impala 4dr. in December of 2001. I did not know when looking for the car in the papers that I was going to meet him via this venture. I saw it and called about it and when I went to his duplex in Fair Oaks (near the Player's Club Bar or something back then), the car was sitting outside and was pretty rough looking. It had a midnight blue paint job with heavy rainbow flake throughout it when the sun hit it and had a bright white top. It ran like shit also, with flames shooting from the carburetor and the intake manifold wasn't completely tightened down! lol. It also had the heater core out and the antifreeze was leaking all over the green carpet. It had fake bolt on wire wheels.

Anyway, I had a couple friends with me and they were checking the car out, and no one recognized him at all. I said I'd buy it and we proceeded to enter his house into his dining room to get a bill of sale and all that. His wife in the pics above was cooking in the kitchen and his child, I believe his daughter, was running around. He came out with a notepad to write the BOS on, and I noticed it had the hand drawing picture of the warthogs or whatever from The Odyssey album sleeve on the back. I then thought he was a groupie and asked him "if he knew what beef there was between Brotha lynch and Mr. Doctor? " He said, "I am Mr. Doctor" calmly, and I retorted, ' I don't think you know what I'm saying...." lol. He said, " No, I AM Mr. Doctor." I went a little fanboy and said "Really?! No gayness (NOT THAT IT'S NOT OKAY), can I give you a hug, man?! So we did the man hug and he was super cool about everything. He went into the back room and brought a bunch of copies of his first three albums out and was like, "Here bro!". Like a dummy, I said, "I already own them all." He was like, "Well you have friends with you, pass 'em out!" lol.

So, we did the transaction, and he signed the repress of "Bloccstyle" cover sleeve for me, which says, "Take care of my Tre - Mr. Doctor." I also, still have it to this day hanging in my studio with other rapper autographs. I ended up having to go back to his house from a few blocks down the street to use his landline to call a tow truck because it broke down... go figure! lol.

The name on the title was Doug Turner. And I believe he is Black and white mix. I did see him once a few months after that while I was driving the Impala down the highway to get to my apartment on Mack Rd and 99 (in south Sac for those who don't know). I was in the middle lane and he drove up fast on my left in a Mid-90's Ford Explorer and was like, "Hey bro!" through his downed passenger window. I returned greeting and he said the car sounds great after I fixed it, and asked d if I DJ'ed; I was like, "No, I just play around with beats and I'm not super good". He laughed, and we talked a bit more and then went separate ways.

Since then, I have fixed it up and repainted it an Indigo Blue with a white and blue pearl top. The interior is the same green vinyl, except the white headliner and, now, blue carpet. Some chrome still needs finishing. I have real 14" wire wheels on it now also. I'd like to get some 17's for it though soon. The car can be very slightly seen with him sitting in the driver's seat on the "Best of Mr. Doctor" CD cover (taken before I bought the car). You can see behind him above the writing, the headliner then was cut all the way over the rear seat to the rear window.

I know, this is long, but I didn't know how else to explain other than the story novel!... sorry... lol. *** Oooh, I paid $3,000 for it.
Any pictures of the car?

It's not done but I think I can post one here. I'm not on social media, so I will see how to do it here.

Ok, so, I tried to post a couple pics of pics because I really don't want to have to pull it out of the garage just to take pics for this, BUT it's saying the files are too large. When I am able to get to it and pull it out I will post some, if it will let me. However, this is either you believe me or not right now... oh well.

Oh, someone said through a thread here that he may work at one of the Gold's Gyms in Sac. I'm not sure which one, either mid-town or Citrus Heights or something, but if anyone knows the specific one, I'd like to drive the car down and let him see it again. I'd like to get the dashboard autographed too, but I haven't painted it blue yet; it's still the original mint green.

Still waiting for the pics.
No, this is not the car. It is only shown slightly on his "Best Of" CD. He is sitting inside of it, and it shows nearly nothing of the outside due to it being a piece of junk. It had just a couple pieces of the side trim down the doors because it is hard to find for a 4dr. I since have found them all, but have yet to send them off to a repair / chrome shop. I have not replaced much of the chrome due to wanting to repaint it again.

I am trying to figure out how to send my phone pics to my email to see if they can post here, but I'm not tech savvy.

You can go to Amazon.com and locate his Best of CD and see the pic there. I am not an App person, so I do not know how to get pics from phone to here.

** Almost forgot, I did change the wire wheels to a set of 17" American Racing VN507 Rodder series rims. So, it looks a bit more hot rod now.

This is it now as of this year, 2022. I moved the exhaust again to the front of both rear wheels because new rims would not go on if I did not cut the pipes shorter. They used to extend out the rear of car when I first did them. It has two 40 series Flowmaster manifolds with 2" pipes. You can see the one pipe if you look.

It has a 327ci engine in it - bored out to 350HP. The engine came from a 1967 Impala SS that was numbers matching to the car that I had also owned, until I wrecked it badly, and eventually sold the body off - which I regret to this day. I kept the 327 engine for a long time, and when the 350 engine I had in the '63 Impala finally blew up, I transferred the 327 to it. The top end of the engine is all Edlebrock with the heavy billet aluminum valve covers and an Edlebrock RPM intake manifold. To tone down the gas budget, I have now placed a 600 cfm Edlebrock carburetor on it, so I can actually cruise it! lol. I also changed out the 350 Turbo 3-speed transmission I put in when I bought car, to now it having a 700r4 4-speed with overdrive for the highways.

** Oh, the windshield wipers were placed upward more than they should be when I had it painted the first time, but I am not doing any changes until I repaint it again since it has a few marks here and there from time and uncontrolable events. None of the the other chrome is on either, so no need for multiple pics. So there you have it!!

I have already stated that the Jerry G photo is not the car; I own it, I would know. That is a 1964 Impala on his cover, not a 1963 4dr. Impala. I had a picture of it on here already, but somehow it is gone now. Besides, I don't even think Doc has done anything musically related to, or with, Jerry G.
