No wonder the refs call so many penalties on us. They view the Raiders as thugs/ex-cons and things will never change cuz of shit like this

makes no damn sense.. what happens outside of football is that.. personal lives shouldn't interfere with outcomes of games... most of tha players in this league came from tha streets and made it.. and likely experienced legal issues

its gonna come down to his lawyer and how he makes the witness look on the stand, the DA wouldnt have charged him if they didnt think they had more than enough evidence to convict....

Just like I said, ain't shit happening unless he's found guilty. dumbass chree and cutthoat.

NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the NFL will follow the legal process before making any determination on discipline for McClain.

“It will be reviewed under the league’s personal conduct policy we do not have an estimated timetable,’’ Aiello said in an e-mail Friday. “It is a legal matter and we will follow developments.’’

I think the victim is full of shit. They played a clip of an interview he had and he's either lying or dumb.

He said "I got mad, mad pain in my ear yo" or something dumb like that.

McClain arrives in Miami, declines to speak

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Raiders middle linebacker Rolando McClain arrived at the team hotel here in south Florida Friday, a day after his arrest on a variety of misdemeanor charges, including one for discharging a firearm in his hometown of Decatur, Ala.

He spoke exclusively to Comcast SportsNet, following the turbulent events of the past 72 hours.

McClain was awaiting the arrival of his Oakland teammates at the official Raiders hotel and politely declined an interview, saying, "I've been advised to not say anything. Best thing I can do is just stay quiet and get ready for the game."

Asked by CSNCalifornia.com if he still planned on playing Sunday against the Dolphins, McClain nodded his head affirmatively.

"No reason why I shouldn't," he said, before getting into an elevator.

McClain was listed on the Raiders' injury report Friday as questionable with a left ankle sprain.

Thursday the former first-round pick was arrested and charged with discharging a firearm within city limits, third degree assault, menacing, and reckless endangerment after an incident Wednesday night in his Alabama hometown.

In his first public appearance since his arrest, McClain was wearing sweatpants and a baggy sweatshirt, and an all-black, throwback-style California Angels cap.

He was listening to music, but removed one of the earbuds when approached by a reporter for a brief exchange.

McClain was alone at the time.

McClain, 22, is heading for a meeting with head coach Hue Jackson in the near term. Jackson indicated Friday after practice that he planned on a face-to-face discussion soon with the former University of Alabama standout.

"The league's going to do what they're going to do, and I respect that," Jackson said earlier in the day. "But this isn't right now about the league. This is about the Raiders and this organization and coach Jackson and this football team. We'll deal with it accordingly when that time comes. Again, until I have an opportunity to sit down with the player face to face, will I finalize my determination."

McClain has 57 tackles, second-most on the team, and two sacks. If McClain is suspended by the team or hampered by the lingering ankle injury, Oakland's backup middle linebacker is former UFL player Darryl Blackstock.

The Raiders also could move Aaron Curry from the weak side into the middle.

how so?

the DA's only charge if they think they can convict, its the defense's job to prove "shadow of a doubt". like i said, it all depends on McClain's lawyer, guilty or innocent, if he does his job right, McClain walks... see: OJ Simpson

DA's like high profile cases and will charge people looking to scare them into a plea bargain. since that counts as a victory for them anyway.

looks like mcclain is going to play tomorrow:

McClain will not plea bargain though, cuz thats just admitting guilt and he will be suspended... if it were you or me, of course we plea, pay our fine, do our community service and keep it movin... with what there charging him with, he's lucky alabama is so leniate on gun laws, my cousin just went down for damn near the same thing here in solano county and is lookin at 4 years cuz they say its a "terrorist threat"...

Schefter: McClain cleared in criminal case
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports misdemeanor assault charges against Oakland middle linebacker Rolando McClain have been dropped in Alabama.

Thus, Schefter reports, McClain will not serve any jail time nor will he face an NFL suspension. The issue stemmed from an incident in his hometown last fall when McClain was accused of shooting a gun near a man’s head during a fight. McClain was originally sentenced to 180 days in jail.
he probably won't be on the team next season anyway. making too much money for a lb that comes off the field in passing situations. he's gone unless he takes a pay cut

Props: Tony
