Niner player are relatively small. Imagine someone like Sapp going after Walter? Big target there. Tall quarterbacks are good, but it gets too a point where that may be a disadvantage also. I'd think twive about it. But he did pull off some good moves also. It's crazy when he broke them tackles and still made that pass, the pass was good too.
A TD, 2 point conversion, and as a rookie quarterback that's going to mean a lot to you and most importantly to your coach. Tie the game, force OT, and you have a chance to win. If your defense fucks up, it doesn't reflect on you, you still come out looking good because you created the opportunity. You don't score on your posession, and at least you still created that opportunity.
Remember, most of these guys are trying to earn their spot on the team. If something can make you look good you're going to go for it.

Moss, jordan, Porter, Sapp. Good players there, but that the Raiders can win mostly with a good offense and an okay defense (at best) is another story.
The Niners are shit, but I wouldn't make them seem better than they are. I'd say 8-8 for the Raiders in the regular season in a best-case scenario. I'd be surprised if they went further than that.
