Racial profiling by LPD

If you would have read my first post, you would see the "reason" they pulled us over. They dont have to directly tell you its because we are mexican. Even indirectly, its still slander and profiling. You dont get told to get out of the car and everything I have said above for the license plate on the front of the car. Told to lift up all our clothes, asked both for ID, give SSN's, have photos taken all because my friends car didnt have the L Plate on the front of the car, its because I had a red face on my watch and I am hispanic.

As I stated above, everything thing else was blue, black and tan. You must not know how it its out here if you from Texas. I dont know if you have ever been in this situation, but it doesnt happen for a license plate. Certainly not proper protocol at the very least.

I mean come on now, we two mexicans ridin in a Caddillac Deville. Both of us have one piece of red on. My watch and his belt, Yeah, thats really gang attire. If fashion is a crime, I guess I should have been thrown in the slammer for having a matching fit.

My homie bangs norte, but I dont. I hang with this dude cuz thats my folks. I have known him since we were like 10. The cops tried to tell us his name came up from a meeting between the Fremont Gang Task Force and the LPD earlier yesterday. But because I was with him and had a red watch on, I am afflilated.

You said it all right there, your homie is known by the cops as a gang member therefore anyone they see hanging out with him is a person of interest to them. You are in the gang files, deal with it. That is a consequence of you hanging with gang members just like if you are rollin with him and you get shot by his rival while hanging with him.

So quit Bitchin and deal with it!

I see where you comin from, but the thing is, if it was really about that, the cops should have said that from the get go. Just cuz the cops said this, doesnt make it true. They will say anything to make you spill your 5th Amendment right and try and incriminate yourself. They cant pull you over for a plate and then make you get out of your car, get all your info and take your picture. Plain and simple. Shit isnt proper. You must be a straight square and have never been profiled so get out your house and step into my shoes. I dont know where you from, but shit dont play out here in Cali. We are the majority and its time the police know that this doesnt play in this day and age.

As I said, I will still seek counsel, aint nothing you gonna say make me think otherwise. But I still value your input.

You set yourself up, now the cops are going to be looking at you for anything they can find on you. Prepare for more harrassment from the cops from now on. Cops can do anything they damn well please if they are savage enough. I wouldnt make a big fuss as you'll just piss the cops off more, it doesnt bode well for your case to have been caught with a gang member.

2, This case has no chance. If the liscense plate was on, you might have a 2% chance. From your accounts...lets see..."we were on our way to a friends house" -- with a fucked up liscense tag and a gang member in the ride....sounds to me like yall were going on a drug run.

If the cop never said you were pulled over for wearing red, you have no case. I've had my personal info taken from just walking down the street: "where you going, what are you doing, name, address...." -- no car, even. No picture was taken, granted, but i still didnt walk away saying "This is racism! This is bullshit!", because it wasn't. And i was an EXTREME minority in my town, less than .5%

That happens everyday in the hood, you hang with affiliated folks and you get documented as well. Next thing you know, you're part of a gang injunction.

If you fight it, they'll say they pulled you over for no front tag-legit- If you say they racially profiled you by pulling you out of the car and searching illegally...there is any # of ways they can get around that. All they have to do is prove probable cause, which they could say was, A) your friend, who is a known associate B)They saw red when they looked in the car C) they smelled weed, (even if they didn't), etc. I think if you're going to fight the system you need some bruises, a video tape or a stronger case...LOL @ "get the DA on my side." I got pulled over once by a cop. And he said he could smell beer on me and yeah i was like i had one beer an hour ago and he was like no i can tell u have had over 6 beers tonight ur coming to the station with me. He didnt even give me a test there he just arrested me and took me to jail where it showed a microscopic bal. My car got towed and i had to pay for that. I thought it was wrong but i didnt throw a bitch attack and try to sue them.

He has no case. And yes if your friend is a known gang member or drug dealer they have every right to pull u over, hate to say it but if u dont wanna be seen as a gang member, maybe not hang out with them?
