the chip isnt called a falcon the falcon is the revised version of the overall hardware that goes inside the console. the first one was whatever then second one was the zephyer and the newest one is the falcon revision. with the new hardware comes the new chips as well. there will be a new one out by the end of the year incorporating both 45nm cpu and gpu chips in it.

they are good now, pretty much all the ones in stock at stores have the newest hardware inside them, since the holidays wiped out all the old stock. these new ones have a lot less chance of breaking, even though the thing that breaks it the red ring of death is cover free by microsoft for 3 years. so if its going to fuck up its going to be that and its covered for free. so there is a safety blanket on buying one, but the odds of a new system breaking are pretty slim. dont forget they have been making the 360's for almost 3 years now. they should have all of the kinks worked out in the manufacturing process.

RIP

my 360 crapped out on me last night with the E73 error (not RROD but worse, isn't covered in the 3 year warranty). it has a manufacturing date of march 2008 on it. so its a little over 3 years old.


MTT. hook it up with the joog on upcoming 360 deals breh.

You mean when they admitted to releasing the 360 knowing there was a 60% failure rate off the production line they tested? (It was in a game informer I seen a year or two ago)

PS3's are very reliable but 360's seem to be better overtime.

How often did u play games or use ur xbox? And for how long?
And was xbox always in a stable place or did u move it from room to room a lot?
Reason I ask is cuz someone did an article stating the reason why 360s crap out is cuz people move them around or a lot from they house to they buddies house etc, and the 360 ain't built for all of that movement. I also think if u play it too much as well it'll crap out on u. Still sucks
