right, so I have got a mate that wants to move to LA and train under Roach, he is 35 and wants to spend the next 5 years achieving his goals. He is an athelete but when he goes to America he said it himself he will be a nobody.

My question is, do you think 35 is too old to mix it up in with the best in the US? He beat Echols btw, I still think he can do it just wanted to hear some opinions.

Cheers

I think if he is good and has the heart and determination to do it that he should go for it.You only get one chance at life. Live it to its fullest

IT DEPENDS HOW MUCH EXPERIENCE HE'S HAD. IF HE'S ONLY HAD LIKE 2-3 FIGHTS THEN NO, BUT IF HE'S BEEN FIGHTING SOME DECENT OPPONENTS FOR A FEW YEARS THEN I'D SAY DO IT
he has had many fights, I think he is ready and in good shape, he's been boxing for 10 years now

I think 35 is a pretty bad age to enter the American circuit (See 37 year old Matt Hughes KO'd last night who is a fighting LEGEND.) But I havent seen this dude fight. If it's his dream to fight then by all means, but success wise I'd say he'd probably get his ass kicked by a 20 year old

EDIT: I'm watching the youtube shit you posted

That's Anthony Mundine, the guy is one of the best from AUS.
I can't tell if you are joking or not.
Roach probably already knows who he is.

I was pretty shocked when he beat Echols, but Echols was on a decline anyways.

Is he your friend or something?
Why Roach though?

There are plenty of trainers out there...

He went to kingsgrove high with a few of my mates and I went to Hurstville with a couple of his mates (5 minute walk apart), he used to play Rugby League for one of my clubs too when we were younger, but in an older age group. He has always been a good bloke. Not close mates with him but friend of friends.

Roach has taught alot of talent I'm assuming that's why he wants to go to LA.

Didn't Tsyzu open a camp in Sydney? I don't think he is training but I am pretty sure he opened a camp and is holding tournaments. I would rather do that...plus he wouldn't have to relocate.

Anyways, his best bet is to contact the Wild Card gym and see if Roach would even take him in. Then he could make a decision from there.

In my opinion, he's good enough to be a part of anyone's team.

Well we all know the US has the best quality fighters in the world when it comes to boxing, that is why he wants to prove himself on the world stage.

Btw he has connections with Roy Jones Snr & Jnr and has trained with them many times, he helped bring him over here to fight Danny Green (a guy Mundine beat btw).

And Kostya has been heavily involved with Boxing here since forever.

35 isn't too old, people just run of out gas and inspiration to train hard. If hes serious about it I'm sure he will be fine. Theres plenty of great fighters still fighting at much older ages.

Dan Severn for example, is 52 and he won all 3 of his fights this year.
Roy Jones Jr. is 41 and still in it..

People give up too easy....
