So I was listening to Slip and Manic Compression today and I came to the conclusion that these guys should get a lot more recognition then they do. I know they are highly influencial in the whole post-hardcore scene but outside of that you never really heard about them. Fuck I mean Slip came out 14 years ago in 1993 and it's still one of my favorite albums to this day.

For those who don't know, Quicksand was a post-hardcore band from NYC and was started by Walter Schreifels of the legendary Gorilla Biscuits. They only put out two full lengths (Slip and Manic Compression) and both of those albums are classic and have stood the test of time (Manic Compression came out in 1995, Slip in 1993 like I said before.) They had one EP and a few odd songs here and there as well. Also a demo under the name Moondog.

Anyone who is a fan of early-mind 1990's rock will love this band (Jesse, RJ, Psilo, etc)

Here is a link to their wikipedia page if you want to read more click here.
