I had a fraudulent charge of $259 on my account last Monday. Luckily my bank is good about that shit and refunded it to me the same day. I wonder if my info was taken from PSN and the charge was a result of that?

Yea it's absolute bullshit how sony acts like the number one priority is getting PSN back up and running! "Oh don't worry, you'll be able to play multiplayer soon! By the way somebody got all your credit card info..." Fuck that! How about making sure my bank account don't get drained because of your fuck up!

And lawsuits to follow...

A class action lawsuit was filed against Sony a day after the company publicly admitted that personal information from PlayStation Network was compromised by security breach. The lawsuit was filed by the Rothken Law Firm today in a California court and alleges Sony "failed to take reasonable care to protect, encrypt, and secure the private and sensitive data."

"We bought this lawsuit on behalf of consumers to learn the full extent of Sony PlayStation Network data security practices and the data loss and to seek a remedy for consumers. We are hopeful that Sony will take this opportunity to learn from the network vulnerabilities, provide a remedy to consumers who entrusted their sensitive data to Sony, and lead the way in data security best practices going forward," said Ira P. Rothken an attorney who filed the class action complaint.

"Sony's breach of its customers' trust is staggering. Sony promised its customers that their information would be kept private. One would think that a large multinational corporation like Sony has strong protective measures in place to prevent the unauthorized disclosure of personal information, including credit card information. Apparently, Sony doesn't," commented J.R. Parker, co-counsel in the case.

The lawsuit seeks "monetary compensation for the data loss and loss of use of the Sony PlayStation Network, credit monitoring, and other relief according to proof."

I'm still sticking with PS3....

People swear it's simple to find out what kind of information was stolen from within a day from a big database that holds a shit load of info ...

I blame Sony for not Encrypting their data though, that was their fault on their part. But I blame the main person who hacked the PS3 which is GeoHotz for giving the/those hacker(s) the door to go all the way in and steal info...

I hope those faggot hackers get busted...

You bet your bottom dollar psn will be secure as hell after this. Kinda like the "safest" time to fly was right after 911.

And you bet they're gonna have someone go down as the scapegoat, regardless of whether actually catch anyone. There's no way they're gonna admit they got hustled and can't do anything about it.

Lolll really? Xbox live is leaps and bounds better than ps3 network...better organized, much easier access IE; messaging, invites, chat etc. Anybody who thinks different just never played xbl.
