Proof getting SUED?!

Let me school ya'll in the HARD FACTS area about this whole shit.
Yeah, they were all drinking after hours at CCC night club on east 8 mile.
Yes, there was an altercation involving Proof and Keith Bender over A DAMN POOL GAME.
According to Police, Proof pulled out a hand gun and started pistol whipping Keith Bender (who was working as a bouncer that night).
Etheridge- Keith Bender's cousin- was also working as a bouncer.
Etheridge witnessed Proof with a pistol in his hand assaulting his cousin, and shot Proof four times- twice in the back, and two more in the back of the head.
It seems the most plausible explanation is that Deshaun Holton pistol whipped Bender before shooting him in the face, and in turn Etheridge murdered Holton. This story is the one that is told by Etheridge. To my knowledge and the media's, no witnesses were able to give statements. Im gathering Proof and Etheridge had the same caliber hand gun, because a lot of focus was geared toward the spent shell casings and how many shots were actually fired.
Some question whether Proof actually shot Bender though, if Im not mistaken. Its possible though that Proof just pistol whipped the guy and the bullet that killed Bender may have came from the hail of gun fire aimed for Proof.
Now, theres a free paper called REALDETROIT that I can pick up just about anywhere I go, and thats where I got the story.
I must also remind you that in the state of Michigan, it is LEGAL for you do kill somebody if you feel your life is threatened or someone close to you's life is in jeapordy.
Say I broke out a knife and held it to your throat, and then your lady came up on me with a shotty and blew my brains all over the place. Your lady would not get charged with murder because she is protecting your life.
With that said, Detroit as a city is just treating the whole thing as a senseless act of violence. Eminem himself said he doesnt want to focus on how Proof died, but on the life he lived. Proof has a criminal history that does involve assault charges. Looking at it from an authorative point of view, Bender was a retired army recruiter doing work at the wrong place at the wrong time and got caught up wit the wrong guy- Proof. Bender was a good member of the community from almost any standpoint you look at him from.
Personally, I just say this is all a tragedy. A lot of people are ssick at the fact that Proof's death was treated as it was (Bronze, Gold played casket. Swanson funeral service *same funeral providers for Rosa Parks. Many people are angry he's buried in the same cemetary as Rosa Parks too. Kwame Kilpatrick (Detroit's Mayor) was at Proof's funeral with the so called "hip hop" crowd.

from what i heard, you got the police sayin one thing about proof, and proofs camp sayin another, basically, their investigating still to see whos at fault...
the fucked up thing is, that IF proof is proven to be defending himself, the fam of the ppl can still sue and win for that wrongful death thing...i dont know how, but that how our judicial system works...
FOR EXAMPLE...that lorena bobbett case...she was proven innocent based upon spousal abuse by her husband, like a self-defense thing...and later on her husband was found to be innocent of the spousal abuse charges...dont make any sense?!?!?!
