The on I playe dwith years ago sucked. No midi implementation, no vst or direct x fx. The EQ was on the master fader and could not be applied to individual tracks.
What type of music are you doing? It's not what you use but how you use it and I'm sure several people on this site can use the app and get results. It's a loop based program like acid and I don't really use loop based programs except for when I use acid for mp3 conversions and playlists. Others than that all MY stuff is recorded in Cubase SX and all of my clients stuff is recorded in Pro Tools.
I prefer sx over pro tools. Better track count, I have more plugins, the midi implementation is better, better stability using vst's (you can run the vst's in pro tools via fxpansion) and to my ears it simply sounds better.
