Glassjaw rules.

I like all those on RJ's list minus Dance Gavin Dance and Finch. The newest Silverstein sucks too but their other albums are great.

Quickstand
Drive Like Jehu
Bear vs. Shark

Ummmm...I'll think of some more later.

I don't really get the whole difference between the genres but you definitely need to check out Botch. I think they're hardcore but I'm probably wrong. Check em though.

Hopesfall
Fear Before the March of Flames
Poison the Well (all except the newest two albums)
Thursday
Glassjaw
Bear Vs. Shark
Alexisonfire
Drive Like Jehu
Quicksand
Kill Sadie
These Arms Are Snakes

That's the good stuff. But you like what you like. I just personally loathe both of those bands.

Alesana or whatever just has that really generic scene post-hardcore sound to them. Plus the clean singing is awful IMO.

From First To Last is about the same but maybe slightly better but they just bug me as well.

My friend listens to all the scene post-hardcore/what's called screamo these days/etc crap and it just bothers me. A lot of the bands just became bands to be part of the scene and get chicks and aren't really in it for the music. Kind of like hair metal bands in the 80s.

But like I said if you like it then you like it. I like a few bands that are considered scene like Silverstein, The Fall of Troy, The Devil Wears Prada, Bring Me the Horizion, etc.

I could never get into FFTL except for the song Note To Self.
That whole new-screamo genre is really hit or miss for me, I love Dance Gavin Dance, Intohimo and I Never Heard the Bullet but can't stand A Skylit Drive, Alesana and Underoath. And the new Emarosa demos have been boring as fuck, I thought they were going to do a lot more now that Jonny Craig (old DGD singer) joined the band but they went from sounding like a heavier Underoath to sounding like DGD without screaming.

I can see the difference between me and most of the other full on rock fans in here, is i LIKE brutal, hard guitar, double drum hitting music....but i NEED melodic vocals. I like my songs to be "brutally beautiful". If there is going to be screaming or yelling, then pave it off with some singing. I cant do too many bands that ar full on grunting, screaming, yelling, or any other form of non-singing for a whole album. It gets annoying.

Like i have stated before...any old muthafucka off the street can yell or scream over music...same as grunting. How is that talent? Im not knocking anyones taste in music, i just dont get it...even being objective i dont get it. Great music can easily be ruined by awful vocals.

I guess i am a generic sounding band fan.
