You don't have to finish a thing my man... I don't live anywhere near NOLA so I have no clue as to what the fuck is going on down there... the major news networks don't talk about it anymore... Even Kanye West who was sooooo upset with Bush days after Katrina hit has gone back to crying about awards... but David Banner (Mississippi) and Juvenile (NOLA) still have to deal with that shit... so when they record songs about whats still going on down there of course it opens my eyes... I think it's funny that Common can be in Gap ads and Coke commercials and still be considered 'conscious' but David Banner can't ride on 22's and spit an occasional political verse...

...'Is every nigga with dreads for the cause?/ Is every nigga with gold for the fall?/ Naw/ so don't get caught up in appearance/...

You should check out the last Mr Lif CD, hes spitting conscious rhymes all over the CD and the production is tight too. It sounds like a new version of the bomb squad sound in the late 80's. You just gotta get past his voice, everything else is dope...

Here's some more stuff Mr. Shallow crates...

M-1 dropped 'Confidential' not to long ago and it's a banger...
Dead Prez and the Outlawz teamed up to let the hustlers know 'You Can't Sell Dope Forever'...
Spearhead always brings political heat... not very rap oriented though... Michael Franti gets down in a Marvin Gaye kinda way but he's worth a listen...
Mike Ladd is another dude you should check for... he has a lot to say...
ooooohhhhhh wweee... dude I have laced you... don't sleep... you asked so I shared...

Gospel Gangstaz are the only people i know that are always rapping about religion. I heard one of their songs once and it was not bad all around.

I get into more of the Kam and Paris type shit. Sometimes Paris takes it way too far for me though. Kam is one of my favorite rappers though. Dude always comes correct on the mic.

I know you said rap, but check out System of a Down & Rage Against the Machine......Zach De La Rocha from rage always has a message with his shit and the guitarist is dope and pretty experimental, and if you happen to get into them then you'd like audioslave, which is the same band but minus zach de la rocha on vocals but with the guy from soundgarden doing more religious backed stuff....or you can go all out christian rock with creed :dead:

serj tanakian also has alot of potent stuff to say, but system of a down is a little heavy.

and nice andre 3000 refrence to whoever put that line up there.....you should really take it into account, stockton.....David Banner is one of the "good guys".....his lyrical ability may not be there, but he really knows what he's talking about and has pretty strong views from what I've heard in interviews as well as some songs.
