The last ever Pink Floyd BBC performance. Recorded in 1971. I HIGHLY recommend for any Pink Floyd fan, an amazing performance. It's the entire show, including program introduction and song introductions by John Peel.

Tracklist:

1. John Peel Introduction
2. Fat Old Sun
3. One of These Days
4. The Embryo
5. Echoes
6. Blues

The .txt document has the information for the show. I can upload the first disc/show, too, if anyone wants.

I like the Wall a lot, but I like Wish You Were Here and DSOTM a little better. I'm more in to the "softer", more spacy Floyd, so that's why I'm partial to those albums (needless to say, Is There Anybody Out There? is my favorite song on The Wall.) I think the second disc on The Wall kinda falls off after the first few songs, too. But the story and everything is just amazing and makes it much better than the other two albums in terms of its intelligence. Plus they made a goddamn movie out of the album for christ's sake!

In terms of live shit, I definately think there is better stuff out there because they usually extend the songs and do a lot of the slow keyboard/trippy guitar stuff in between verses (which is what I like). You also see the evolution of certain albums and songs, too, as well as different versions of songs. For instance, for some of their 1974 tour while WYWH was still being put together, they played Shine on You Crazy Diamond parts one and two together as one piece, and later played with Have a Cigar in between (still as one piece) before the other 2 songs from WYWH were added. Shit like that makes me love live Pink Floyd. Ultimately I like it better because it's generally much more atmospheric than albums, especially the stuff before DSOTM.

The biggest problem is finding bootlegs that don't have crappy sound quality, or ignoring the sound quality in some instances. Sometimes you wonder why someone even bothered to press some performances to CD and sometimes you wonder why this isn't an official album because the quality is so amazing.

My personal favorite live performance is Live at Pompeii (the video is even better), which I can upload if you're interested.

Sorry for the essay. When I get started on PF, it's hard to stop:).
