As much as I like Pimp C and think he's a legend, this just didn't live up to my expectations. I know Bun and them did the best they could with Pimp being gone, but I just wish it would of been classic like Pimpilation. Maybe I just gotta listen to it a few more times through.
Yeah, as much as I'm a UGK / Pimp C fan this album does sound a bit thrown together. I dare say some of the songs sound like they were throwaways, but were salvaged due to the obvious situation.
The featured rappers outshine the late Pimp C throughout the album which is a clear sign he wasn't around for approval. Yet, it feels like the featured rappers jumped into the spot light with the, "Watch me shine" attitude under Pimp C's shadow. Almost as if it's used for their own promotional tool.
I feel the featured rappers could of toned it down and not so much outshine Pimp C. I understand that as an artist, when being featured it is in fact your turn to shine, but in this case, they could of toned it down just a bit and let Pimp C shine the brightest for the last time on wax.
