see what he needs to do is go down to the beach and get himself some sand
hook the keyboard up to the computer as usual and lift out a few of the black keys using a screwdriver
pour some of the sand into the under part of the keys from where you took the black keys out, then replace the black keys
pick up the keyboard and shake it all about - this will spread the sand underneath the keys and pick up hidden memories of melodies played in the past
mix the rest of the sand into a glass of 7 up or sprite and drink it all but hold it in your mouth
open up the music production software and play the theme tune to knight rider on the keyboard backwards while still holding the sand and 7 up in your mouth
after the music has been played, swallow the 7up
the hidden memories of melodies played on days gone by will be uploaded to your computer from the keyboard automatically and all the lost beats will be restored
