^^that shit (ssris) dont stop anyone whos truly having an anxiety attack, from having one...that drowsy feeling is good for some sleep maybe (why would you take ssris for sleeping..docs do prescribe it for that tho. just IMO you dont need your brain fucked with to sleep you just need sedation.)

two weeks into it you gon realize the shit is changing how youre thinking not just giving you a good nights rest or somethin lol

thats why benzos are usually short acting and come on in 5-20 minutes..because you cant wait...actually valiums are best taken sublingually (under the tongue) because they hit you in like 5 minutes.

smoking weed helps for anxiety too, atleast for me. some people they get anxiety when smoking.

they just make sure youre not suicidal or having any suicidal ideations.
ive been down this road.....

you know whats more dangerous....docs mixing up anxiety for depression and vice versa..theres a thin line
Gas, it would be malpractice to prescribe SSRI alone, to a bi polar patient. It could trigger a potentially lethal manic episode. It is far from the trial and error that you speak of. There is a huge difference between Major Depressive Disorder and Bi Polar Disorder.

kaiser permanente doctors are not the brightest in the toolshed...and much could be said for the patients alot of times.

i couldnt even imagine how many people get misdiagnosed daily
In my opinion, the problem are the insurance companies who give very limited coverage when it comes to mental health. So patients end up turning to medical doctors instead of psychiatrists and psychologists who are properly trained for the job.

Here's something I just found on a mental health message board after googling "SSRIs and Bi Polar":

Time for reform... - Anonymous - Jan 19th 2007
My wonderful bipolar (but now ex) girlfriend was misdiagnosed for over forty years by psychiatrists, MDs and their PAs, endocrinologist, ER docs, on and on. When she was prescribed an SSRI, she went into a two-month long psychosis exhibiting disturbing psychomotor agitation, total lack of sleep, etc. I cared for her 24/7, as family and friends distanced themselves, not knowing what to do, and doctors continued judging wrongly. A little clinic finally properly diagnosed her as bipolar and helped but later she was again misprescribed then became manic, kicking me out of her life, even dragging me into court over her delusions of persecution. Another (long known) bipolar relative was recently misprescribed – doc didn’t read the medicine’s literature - an SSRI and caused a needless, destructive manic episode. I’ve come to see that most medical doctors are NOT educated enough to treat people with antidepressants. Equally deplorable are laws that allow the mentally disordered to wander the streets until they commit a crime. Every police officer told me, they don’t get proper help in prison. It’s time for serious reform of the American mental health system. I’m glad to see websites like this provide much needed information and education. And my wish is that soon everyone, the afflicted and family and friends too, receive the proper care they need to thrive.

That shit is all bad, paxil has some nasty side effects for some people. my mom was on that shit and it gave her like electric shocks in her brain or something crazy shit but when she tried to stop using it it gave her nasty depression spikes keeping her on them.
