First of all why wouldnt he cover for somebody who has been down with him his entire life over some random grandma whos family was probably affiliated with people who had been trying to kill him his entire life? In gang rich neighborhoods the other side is demonized more than you can imagine. how can he see any reason to justify snitching.
Next, what makes you think witness protection gave a fuck about x raided when shit happened? The government only gives a fuck about criminals that affect them, mainly through dodged taxes. The mafia deals in many different types of goods, and in my experience crips that are making enough money for the government to care, are usually making the money off of a substance that is not taxable at all and not even legal so the feds have no reason to help x raided.
And as for the "its the crips not the mob" comment, thats just stupid. the crips are maybe less organized than the traditional american portrayal of "the mob" but that image of this elite, ultra efficient gang consisting of a group of families is a fictional one.

Dude as far as not ratting on somebody for a murder, you know there are circumstantial influences that outweigh the masses opinion of you. I get that you dont think its right but who are you to say somebody is scum? Im sure youve had opinions that differ from the popular one, and Ill admit that not being concerned with another persons death may be a very taboo point of view, but how can you say you know whos the 'bad guy'?
