i was the first muthafucka to write about sham on this board. I jeard his demo tape in the barbershop. THAT is the best tape i've hear dinyears and I only heard five or six tracks.

I just finished postin onanother thread about gangsta rap or somethin. somebody was askin who is the most gangst or somethinlike that. I haven't heard anything that REALLY impressed me since Pac dropped my Ambitionz. I thought I was just out of it. Dont get me wrong, I heard some cool rappers that got the bay area style, but something is always missing. Well, I wish I woulda had saw this message first because I swear to god that i think you are talkin about the people i heard in the barbershop that day.

I remember two songs the most

One song was about "I put that on my momma, I put that on my son, I put that on my cousin, Nigga, I put that on my gun." Man, whoever that nigga was is riDIC ulous. Potna at the top said he did a review. who was that song "I Put That On" It was the best song I heard. That shit was so simple. Niggas say it all the time, to make a song on it and make it bump... damn

The other song was about some real gangsta shit.
Dude was sayin"I give a FUCK bout you niggas, betta find some duck bout you niggas, when I bust by you niggas, aint no love by you niggas!" Man.... it's hard to explain, that shit made me squirm. Made niggas itchy, hella uncomfortable. Anyway, like Isaid, I dont usually by shitm, but I will be the first to slide that. Where can you get it.

I am no profesional critic, so fuck what yall talkin about. That shit is in the trunk. the one song about the "freeway siccness" had somuch BASS in it..it sounded like that old way tooshort used to stack his songs like in dope fiend beat. but it was just pounding back to back. boom, boom, boom, boom, boom, boom! BOOM! BOOM! Man, that shit made me want to cry. people ask why the bay fell off why niggas dont sell. Its because of weak ass music. niggas like me who used tobuy shit 10 years ago dont buy a muthafuckin thang. WHy? Cuz i got standards. is sham onthis board. if so, I wrote you a post talkin about my little homie at Richmond High.I wrote a letter on the website and never heard back. Man, i'm tellin you if you put his shit out you will make some money. He can do one of them beats justice. Fuck with him. let me know what to do. whats the email or address to sham.

lastthing I got to say. there is this one ling about "Sombody eplain to me about shit I aint got"

Dude says: I dont smoke crack and I dont fuck wit hop...
somethin simthin.
Then he says the line that had niggas in there talkin. Matter of fact when I was inthere today different fools was still talkin about it and tried to get him to sell the demo. Anyway, dude said the line of the year. I remember it becuase niggas was talkin about it today as being the realest line we have ever head in a rap song. Dude said," I can't stand my baby momma, fuck rap songs nigga dats real, bitch can't stand on her own two feet, broke as fuck all in my grill. " next verse he sayd"Left a bad bitch wit a FAT job -for my baby momma - thats a mistake because you know the ho aint nuthin but drama my family hate her cuz she start SHIT... can't get a check witout the DA takin half of IT"
(damn I remember this shit. that says something rigt there)
I guess it was what he was sayin with the WAY he was spittin it. Today we decided that it was sham on that last song, but niggas really dont know. The big thing is that it is FINALLY somebody from the bay that i will give uo 20 dolalrs for. Call me sting, but besides 40, i dont even THINK about buyin shit. The cds that ARE good only have 3 good songs onem. Niggas think you stupid. three muthafuckin songs....

last thing is this. I am not a hater. I am just saying that whoever gave those promos to the barbershop was a mistake. Niggas is tryin to get it and they is fina bootleg the FUCK out that record. Even though it's only about 8 somgs (thats what D-Boy was sayin) it is still hella tight and niggas will flip it for 5 dollars a clip. Man I was in there and they was serious as fuck. I guess you gotta give demos, but thats some risky shit. He wasn't sellin it, but niggas was gonna break him off for it. Howlong will that last. Niggas is niggas and that cd is as good as burnt. I been knowin him since we was little kids. He's a good cat. He said the reason he hasn't sold it is because word got around the town (the rich) because hella artists I guess is from richmond. and he is gettin people in there tolisten to the shit. so he think it is helping his business b/c people want to hear it but he wont let em stay in unless they are a customer. But that is gonna play out soon. I dont think bootleggin a cd is what's killin a industry. i just dont understand giving a promo to a shop in ghetto ass NorthRichmond where you know niggas is shiesty. SHit wont be new forever. WHen do it actually come out.

lol, i will post a track. Ay, i thought you were one of the peole who asked to do a review. You mean you never went to the page and heard the muzik. oh well. spam, lol. aight. I am gonna work on makin a link. i am really pleased with the feedback so far, plus people need to hear what the hell people are talkin about. The people that did reviews mostly mailed them to me. They were all positive, with some constructive criticism sprinkled in. The worst review was for Nutt-So's song. The buy said "she sounds like she's whining on the hook" talkin about this singer. I died laughin. Other than that, he and the others had good things to say. Pretty cool cats. As for the link, let me work on it.

Aright, Im not finished listening to the whole album yet, I need to take it in for a minute but heres what I think so far:

One thing you can't accuse this group of is being generic. The beats are very original. It sounds like they are taking Bay Area mobb beats and mixing in that laidback Eastcoast style flow track. The best example I can think of when explaining this style is like a Celly Cell- Its Goin Down or Po Pimp but not with machine gun lyrics.

The lyrics are also pretty good. Im not gonna call their lyrics something new because its gangsta rap, but it's somethin 'fresh' compared to a lot of the "gangsta rap" out now.

So far I like it. It reminds me of a lot of albums with RAW talent that will still develop. Prolly even cop it or dude said he would throw us reviewers a free cd or whatever.

I would reccomend it to Fully Loaded, Mob Figaz, Outlaws type fans...
Ill post a full review later though.

Ugly Bitch-witty and entertaining...lyrics were tight and humorous at the same time...most people can probably relate to this vs the gang bang shoot'em up topics....

Leave Him Alone-Detrimental is his name rite? Damn dood is tight, got nice flows, beat is tight, hook is cool too...the hook reminds me of Lil Ric a lil bit...

Dog Bitches-this song got cool flows, beat is slumpin...flows are versatile....keeps it fresh...2nd rappers verse was sick...came with some cool delivery...

FreewayMob-sounds a lot like some material coming out of Sac...like Hollowtip or something...beat was cool, nothing special....track didn't do much for me...

The Coldis-beat was kind of boring to me...lyrics was cool, but wasn't very "eye-opening" as a track..

GettinIt-Lyris were cool....delivery was cool....hook was kind of weak to me...beat was slumpin, but nothing special

Nutty-track had a cool beat, flows was ok, female singer kind of messed up the mood of the track, but I swear sound like Nutso trying to be captain save a hoe on this track...don't see this being played on the radio...

RichmondKilla-the intro before the flows kicked in was waaay too long...kept waiting for someone to spit and nothing.....then all i hear is the n word over and over....this is not a rap...this just sound like a bunch of shit talking...hated this track...

WeGonMakeIt-quality of this song was real bad...could barely hear the flows....beat was very repetitive and boring...from what I could hear..lyrical delivery reminded me of BONE...didn't care too much for this song...

They Gone-nice laidback beat...sort of reminiscent of sean t type production...nice flows...cool hook...this song was cool...

I think you got something good here Game Warden....I think there is still some improvements that could be done...but, your artists have that sound of hunger in their voices..like they could be something big if they want to be...good luck on the project..

First off….Marcel….thanks pimpin for turning me on to some top notch mobb tracks. Ain’t much that makes me follow up on a post but you sounded so genuine….you got me juiced to hear it. So I wrote Sham an e-mail to an address on the soundclick page Bumpus found. I attached your post to the e-mail…from there Sham & Kareem looked into the Siccness. That’s a nice lil chain of events from a demo in your barbershop. It was all more than worth the effort. Here’s my take on these tracks:

Big Mel – DaColdis: Nice beat…more a faster mobb feel….but can get a lil repetitive. Big Mel got good flows but not my favorite. I’d like to hear more from Big Mel.

Detrimental: Shit gets me moving real quick…..again on that Mobb tip and I’m agreeing with it. Detrimental got a good voice and really complements the whole track. Sham can produce like a mutha!

DJ Sham – Ugly Bitch: Lyrics grab you right off bat and I find myself glued to them the whole track. “Gettin my hair braided for free..you paying to get hers done, that shit is Chinese and I don’t know where you niggas come from.”. Sham got some on point flows that are killin’em! The beat is simple but very well made and a perfect fit for this song. One of those tracks you just follow.

Heat Seeker - Highway Mob: Damn, beat is knockin….old sounding cowbells & claps in the backround but the complex new bass line combos are what I notice most! This track brings back some eastbay roots. I like dudes spits on top of it….on that faster style but he can pull it off. Second dude fits the style too but there’s nothing they can do to be the focus on this one. But not everybody is going to feel this track because it could come off a lil overwhelming.

Richmond Killa: This is some top notch shit right here! Both the beat/production and vocals are right on. You can tell dude is straight of the streets of Richmond and it’s a good thing someone pulled his ass into this studio because he rips it. Sham laced this track real proper with one of the best mobb sounds I’ve heard in a while.

Boys N Da Bay: The keyboards are a rendition that has been used for years but they make this sound conform to their style. It’s a good catchy beat that would get any party hopping and the lyrics & flows are again above average. The production is so consistent that I can’t imagine any booty tracks ending up on the release….that’s a giant feat in itself.

Family Business – They Gone: The beat is a lil more laid back and fits dudes lyrics. He comes from the heart and you feel that in the song. He also sounds quite a bit different than Big Mel, Detrimental, and the others. Unfortunately most everyone can relate to this song. It’s not my favorite but still a good track. I might skip it after hearing it a couple times.

Leave Him Alone: Never heard a xylophone sound gangsta but they somehow do it. Flows are coo but nothing that jumps at you…can see this one possibly growing on me. I’d like to hear dude kick back a lil more on this track….wish I knew who was spitting on some of these because the voice sounds familiar.

Nutt-So: Shit…….TOO CLEAN!!!! This shit right here would have folks on the radio taken notice real quick. This beat gets me moving inside and again the production is no joke. All the levels are right on plus the keyboards are tight! Nutt-So sounds so much more polished on this track than anything off Street Thugs or his solos...I’d love to hear Sham and Nutt-So get together on a project. My only criticism would have to be the 1 ½ minute chorus….it can get hard to sit through, good thing the beat can carry it through. A third verse would be sick but with just two it’s still has the potential to blow.

Dj Do – We Gon Make It: This song is a lil busier but still sounds sick. Dj Do flows like Twista but that style is a good change of pace. I can see how this could be a radio pick. Again the production is strong and the track fits the mood they’re creating.

Overall…I’m impressed! These guys are very modest about their music and I like there approach to this…..those making faulty claims have killed everyone’s trust lately….but this right here makes me start believing again. I’d make a special trip just to kop it.

After hearing the whole thing I gotta say I was impressed. 8.5/10. I think its probly the best CD I've heard from artists posting on here (although some other people are bringing heat too). Keep up the good work. I wrote an in depth review I think Game Warden said he was posting it later.
