How long have you been a fan?
Ive been a tech fan since since 98...Ive been a Metallica fan since I was in elemetry school lol....some of my buddies were into that shit and gave me a tape....I wasnt a fan of the band per say but I loved cliff burtons bass solos....my dad played bass and at the time I was trying to learn how to play and I listened to every kind of bass player from jazz to country to rock to metal. I think that the fact I love almost all kinds of music is what turned me onto Tech becuse he has a very flexible style and flow...

Where's a new Pac CD when u need it. If they were to release all the tracks with OG lyrics and beats that have been mixed by others that could change shit. One day I hope that shit see's the light of day. I read that some lady bought Death for for 24 mil. and there is still 20+ unreleased tracks and I just hope they dont fuck that shit up by letting eminem remix them he is a horrible producer.
Pacs mom has the most ogs still...

Old or not, rap sucks balls right now. Well, mainstream rap. Underground rap artists are the strongest rappers ever at this point in hip hop. Tech, Crooked I, Pharoahe Monch, etc. The most skilled rappers in history are alive right now in the underground. The only talented rapper I've seen come onto MTV in the past few years is Lupe Fiasco. He's majorly talented, other than that everyone is shit.
And I hate how Tech defends Soulja Boy in the song. I cringe even hearing him say his name. I get where hes coming from but Soulja Boy aint a rapper, hes a talentless piece of shit who got lucky that there are millions of retards out there that will buy his stupid shit. For christs sake, the little retard didn't even know who did " Fuck Tha Police." And he calls himself a hip hop artist? Fuck him. I get that Tech ain't a hater but damn, some people deserve the hate.

first off im very versitile when it comes to music i listen to everything but mainly hip-hop, underground hip-hop is alive and mainstream is a little twisted, i listin to tech faithfuly, but i was and still am into the hyphy movement and still bump it on the regular, the indistry is to worried about getting that paper then putting out real good solid stuff, there more worried about the next club banger or how they can make that quick dollar. i do like some mainstream stuff because i do like the clubs and stuff but i do really think the stupid ass lil wayne shit really needs to stop, hes not even good, kid cant even hold his words to a beat. no matter were i go what concert or club i always am blasten tech before, i think people really need to listen to the music, every one i have introduced to tech has found a song they cant get out of there head, mainly caribou lou. i think the main thing that dose need to stop is this lil wayne craze, this is just me spittin off.

The state of ANY music is just what you make it. I for one, am into rap right now the way I was when I was like 14 and first discovered DMX. There's all sorts of great shit out there, you just have to find it. I haven't played a damn thing other than Strange music and MC Chris shit for the past half year or so. "The state of hip-hop" is just a tagline that music channels and magazines use to sell shit to people. It's a manufactured debate.

There is no "state of hiphop", because if you were going to debate that issue, you'd probably wind up talking about Pac and Big and shit from back in the day, when the music industry was completely different. The internet was new and not.... very good back when they were hot on the radio. Since that time, the internet has grown so much and people have learned that it can be used to persue their own personal interests. That has caused radio to become obsolete, except to 13-14 year old girls who crave being advertized to. That's why shit like Hannah Montana and High School Musical is so hot now... Because TV and radio have turned their interests towards tweens.

So basically what I'm saying is that "the state of hiphop" is created by the lisstener now. If you want to debate the "state of hiphop", then you'd basically be debating how hot your mp3 folder is. Mine is on fucking fire.

That pretty much sums it up, of the new shit out over the past few years Its been Strange music and Duckdown for me, you from NY im surprised you aint on top of that shit. Before that Defjux had a nice little run but Aesop rock fell off, C-rayz walz fell off Mr. Lif fell off and El-p cant rap like always but makes nasty beats. I have enough music to last forever and if I find something new which I always tend to do good for me, more music to add to the roster.

I have... unpredictable musical tastes. The only thing I was ever into as much as I'm into Tech was Marilyn Manson.

I'm was just starting to bump MC Chris (nerdcore) 24/7, and then Killer leaked. Haven't listened to anything since.

It's a shame that decent topics like this one get shoved out of the way by stupid bullshit like "I love Tech more than you, I bought 24 copies of Killer" threads.
