Lil Wayne is the face of mainstream hip hop right now.

Robotic voices are the new thing. (People ENJOY T-Pain.)

Hip Hop stations are now being polluted with more R&B garbage.

Instead of dropping classics, rappers want to make a song that will sell a lot of ringtones.

Wiggers are at an all-time high, due to the massive effect rap has on kids today. Bumping a nice beat no longer feels as special, knowing every high school faggot is doing the same thing now.

Rap is now being marketed for teenage girls instead of hip hop heads.

State of hip hop is horrible. Nothing classic from the underground in a while either.

LOL!

I still listen to hip-hop, but honestly I'll actually buy very few albums anymore...

Tonedeff, Tech, Kaliko, Krayzie Bone, Chamillionaire, Sandman, Redman / Method Man, C-Mob...

I bought Prozak's album too but I only listen to maybe 5 tracks off it...

other than that... bleh.. I don't listen to hardly any newer hip-hop besides those names...

Older hip-hop I still bump on the regular... mid 90's to late 90's shit... 90's Bone Thugs, Nas, Raekwon/Ghost/Wu, Xzibit, Mobb Deep (only the first two albums), Snoop, Naughty By Nature, old school Big Daddy Kane, shit like that, stuff that can stand the test of time...

Honestly, there's just too much garbage out there today... I listen to rock more often than hip-hop now...

Hiphop right now? Well, too much oversaturation of the same thing. I've written many rants about how it needs a gray area nd I don't feel like writing another. I just wish that I could turn on the radio and hear something fresh. If you don't like something yeah yeah we can just turn it off but it would be nice for the radio to play something I would like. But hiphop is alive, you just gotta know where to find it.yada yada yada

Rap moves in phases kids...wait a few years and it'll be different. Rap was real cheesey back in the late 80's then went ultra gangster in the early to mid 90's, then back to some party shit and the end of the 90's, then back to a bit more street orientated sound, now it's back to the club.

Just ride the ride and appreciate it for what it is.

This is a double post in another thread..I still wanted to post the same shit tho b/c it makes sense over here as well

I ran into an old friend today and we started talking about Tech and how he felt in relation to the industry. It was kind of funny because he compared Tech to Metallica lol....I was like WTF is this dude talking about...then he broke it down to this...when metallica was underground all there fans loved them...they were loyal as fuck and realy helped put them on the map and they stayed under for 10 or so years...but when they went off and signed w/ a major and droped an album all there old fans called them sell outs and left them, while due to exposure and hard work they picked up "new " fans and won back old ones and now are one of the biggest bands in the world.

I guess this happens in every big name artists career...theres a point when the old fans feel left out or some shit but new people flock to his shit like it happend overnight. I think the problem some of us long term fans have is that we feel like "yall m/f should have been down from the jump!!" and "now this fools selling out trying to ge more fans and recognition". I dont know if this will be the case w/ Killer or just another false start on his " industry take over"
but regradless I dont think any of us will be happy lol...time will tell I guess

I really hope that we don't have a thread for every song off killer.

If tech did quit making music after Killer, that would be a huge slap in the face to his fans. Everyone else probably has a different opinion but I've only been listening to tech for 2 years. I'm not ready to look for another artist.

Where's a new Pac CD when u need it. If they were to release all the tracks with OG lyrics and beats that have been mixed by others that could change shit. One day I hope that shit see's the light of day. I read that some lady bought Death for for 24 mil. and there is still 20+ unreleased tracks and I just hope they dont fuck that shit up by letting eminem remix them he is a horrible producer.
