bachelor of contemporary dance ..3 years, currently in 1st year
Yeah that'll be a lucrative career.

Ehh, it depends on how you lost your job. I was unjustly fired and then drew unemployment, and I couldn't be happier.
Me too. I was (I think) set up by my boss. But what I'm saying is they give you the money, and then you don't worry about getting the fuck up to get a job and get out of the house. Then you realize that you have 20 thousand gamer points and you're a bum.

I work for Tru Green Lawn Care. I basically fertilize lawns and kill weeds...things of that nature. From October to February I get laid off. I do get a call back date so it's basically a 4 month paid vacation.
I used to do that... One of the best jobs I had too. Do you guys have the ride-on spreaders yet? I put close to 200 hours on one of those before I had to leave. It was like riding a quad in peoples backyards for work.

I miss that job.

We got a few of em. The commerical guys get those, that do the big properties. I just have to walk and spray. Only downfall is, here in Springfield it gets hot and humid as fuck in the summer.

I drive an ambulance in the north bay area. 48 hours a week, 2 days on 5 days off.
Damn 24 hours. Whats a day like when you are working? Are you actually at the hospital or whatever for the whole 24 hours (other than while driving the ambulance and breakfast/lunch/dinner)?

It would be sick to have 5 days off a week, im definitely jealous of that.

i work in electronics at wal-mart. not the greatest job ever, and doesnt have the greatest pay ever ($8.85 an hour after a year and a half, hoping to get a .40-.60 an hour raise come march). However, its a job, pays me enough to cover my bills and still have some money left over to throw into my savings. that, and how many other companies do you know of that are still giving out profit sharing with how shitty the economy is? im getting a $200 bonus in my check next week just for working there last quarter.

Currently I work for Purdue as IT for the Liberal Arts department. I manage the graphic design/photography/audio engineering areas specifically.

As for school..

I graduate in December with a Psychology Degree from Purdue, then I'm going to Air Force OTS next year to maintain aircraft.
^^^

Almost all of your jobs suck.... Guess I'm just lucky or some shit.
I doubt that.

I'm a student at Ohio University majoring in Information & Telecommunications Systems, and minoring in Business. Plan on being the VP or CEO, of some major tele-systems company and make bank. I'd look into this area of study, by 2012 it is said to be the most demanding job in the country. Bout to make bank, can't wait to be whipping this:

I'm a graduate student. I have about 2 years left until I have a Doctorate of Philosophy in Sociology. As part of the paying dues process I have an instructorship and teach a few classes here at Mizzou. They pay me in peanuts. Not really...but almost.

I'm in college, double majoring in communication and political science. It's nice because that opens up a lot of opportunities for the future, but it's also bad because there is no direct path to follow. I was always a bit jealous of people who know what they want to be when they grow up, then go to school and become that thing. I really still have no idea and it's my senior year.

Hopefully a quality internship works out for next summer. More than likely I'll continue on to grad school, both because I love learning and because it will allow me to procrastinate getting a real job. But we'll see...

Hows the knife business going? I always thought that Vector thing was a scam every summer they send a letter to my house trying to get me to go apply there.
It actually pays pretty good if u sell. U get payed per appointment wether or not you sell anything anyway. The more you sell over time, the more you make per appointment. I acutally saw a thing on Modern Marvels about CutCo knives, so the knives are legit. I've been getting (what i consider) phat paid off of a couple days of work a week. I've heard people tell me its a pyramid scam...but I haven't noticed anything that suggests it is...

All I'm concerned about is gettin' my check and slangin' blades. Ask LDS bout it, hes got a buddy thats been selling CutCo for some time now.

^^^ How is it the worst thing? People are always gonna need cooks.
Restaurant's are some of the first to suffer in recessions. When money's short people tend to not eat out as much. Skilled chefs can be irreplaceable, though.

I'm a Psychology major in my second year. I'm thinking about minoring in Philosophy. It won't do much for me career wise, but I love that stuff. I cut grass to fund it in the mean time. I'm also in the process of working for a small psychological firm. Hopefully that goes through.
