My condolences to Nas and his hip.

May it rest in peace.
:hurt:

Hip hop aint dead.

The population is braindead for buying shit that supports these one hit wonders with their non-innovative garageband beats and the worst hooks and chorus's in history. There is the exception of some people in the mainstream tho.

Just look at the change in music from today and how it used to be

and back how it used to be
No offense to fans of Pac, but the example is tired.

Let's face it people, Hip Hop is never gonna change. Underground is gonna be where it's at, while mainstream will continue to rain supreme and be notorious for being the shit that ignorant children listen to. Don't tell me to be optimistic, because I've been optimistic for too fucking long. Let's look at it from a business perspective. Tell me, is it easier to make a bullshit song, or actually sit down and write something remotely intelligent? I'm guessing the first suggested is easiest. So what happens is that A&Rs look at this and say "Wow, these people keep buying these records from these simplistic artists, how about we circumvent these artists and let them keep making their simple music, therefore we can keep budgeting their videos and radio singles, which equals more money for us". That's how it's gonna go, and it's never gonna change unless the audience was to somehow die, because at this point, these kids can give two fucks whether a song is lyrical or not, as long as it's danceable and guys can fuck bitches to it, then it's staying. And it's gonna be that way for a very long time. These kids are too ignorant to give an intelligent artist a listen past his/her popular single.

Just keep rooting for the underground artists and praise what they do whenever it's good, because they may be the only saviors we have in this world of Hip Hop. It is dead, and the only way we can revive it is by keeping our talented artists motivated.
