I agree with you in regards to what COULD happen with Slaughterhouse. They could put MY ass on Shady...if Interscope put a 1/4 of the effort they put into Em's shit...anybody would blow up on there. But they don't. I understand Em is their moneymaker (durr)...but these other artists on there aren't being given the opportunities that they should get. Artists on Strange are given way more opportunities and that's an Indie...
Also...in Em's world...Slaughterhouse probably don't even got a buzz...even if he is down with Royce. I mean Em's don't even acknowledge dudes like Tech and these dope underground cats. His ass jumpin on tracks with Wayne and shit. I love Em and shit...but I respected him more when he was particular about who's track he was hoppin on. That track he did with wayne was UUUUUUGGGGLLLYYY!!
I see what you're saying and some of it sounds like opinion. I never said Em is Interscope's moneymaker so your "durr" is ridiculous. (Like I don't fuckin' know that) Also, Em DOES acknowledge underground/indie artists. He doesn't go around shouting them out or anything, but Marshall Mathers, believe it or not, is a fuckin' hip-hop head. He bumps EVERYTHING. (In fact I remember Tech N9ne saying that Crooked I gave Em a Tech song and Em loved it and played it on Shade45 the next day. I believe it was "Leave Me Alone") Also Royce said Em had the Slaughterhouse album and was playing it the whole time
before they even approached him about the deal.
Now the Em should not do songs with Wayne and Drake and whoever isn't up to par, in your standards thing. That's fine. I agree with this as well, but it's not like Em sucked ass on those tracks. I'm guessing your not a huge Lil Wayne fan, cool, neither am I.. but in the eyes of the record label and fans (not us of course) that was huge to see them on a track together. I thought both songs ("Forever" and "Drop The World") we're ok, and coincidentally Royce SMASHED both those beats with freestyles.. I know Em can see that his former hype man never lost a step. And the only reason Em did those songs was for more promotion and ultimately more money.
Now back to the main point.. Interscope/Shady/Aftermath/Universal only fucks with artists that can move records and that have a thriving expanding fanbase. I rap too. You think you or me have a snowballs chance in hell being successful at a label where nobody knows who the fuck we are? Even with Dre beats and an Em feature, if you have no promo you're not going anywhere, you and I both know that. That was your point.
Now Slaughterhouse isn't me or you or Stat Quo or Bobbie Creekwater (horrible fuckin' name btw). They are almost full fledged household names. Interscope sees an opportunity and they'll seize it. There is money to be made in that group and if they're not braindead, that will come to fruition and Slaughterhouse will be everywhere and anywhere.
You saying this signing is stupid, is laughable. Cause I know Royce and Crook, if they're not happy, they'll fuckin' say something about it. They will not sit on a shelf..
Believe that!
