interesting.....I'd try to remake the beat in garage band, but I deleted all my sounds cuz I was running out of space.....and now garage band don't work without the built in sounds.....lol
he could be one of the people that makes sounds/loops for apple. I knew someone who did that, they made way more money off that shit than actually making music......but I doubt it
i think drums are exceptional as long as u lay down ur own original foundation. taking a melody from a program that is a mac standard is kinda gay. and he probly got hella money off that. i guess if ur a big name u could get away with it.
^that's the beginnings of a nice beat tho.....regardless of if its looped things.....that could really be flipped into something if you added hella other elements to it
yeh I kinda look at it like sampling.....
It's not like the whole usher beat was put together as a stock loop. Dude did have to make it sound major. You can't take anything away fro Polow, he's put in enough work in the game
Timbalin did some similar shit with sounds from the proteus..he sampled a loop of a pre made part that demonstrates the sound being use..I cant remember which one..some sample c.ds with loops have been use on some hot songs....whatever ya need to do..
shit i would use that shit 2 if heard it hahaha sounds like all the radio shit thats out these days anyway sounds like a RUNNERS beat or J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League

there's a bunch of these that are saying he jacked beats, just youtube timbaland and they pop up
this is tight however, its shows what he sampled.....I dont think this is him "stealing" music, but sampling instead or replaying things....although they're saying he didn't credit the artists
Samplin is cool..what I was sayin was when you have a sound module or keyboard and you audition the sound to see what it sounds like in an arrangement the module usually has a 2- 4 bar melody or song with that sound...Timbo just took those and barely did anything else..I aint mad though I aint takin nothin from him..
Polow isn't the first person to loop samples and he won't be the last. As far as Timbaland goes, he doesn't steal from anyone. He has sampled and replayed music before and he'll probably do it again but that doesn't make him some kind of fraud. I've watched him build hot music from scratch so anyone who suggests he's a fraud only looks like a fool in my eyes. You don't reach his level of success in this business by being a petty thief.
Yeah but these aren't samples, they are loops. Lifting a sample off a record or some other source and cutting it up takes skill. Opening up Garageband and putting together pre-made loops does not.
I think he's talking about the "effort" it takes to find and edit your OWN samples. Alls he's saying is that taking a pre-made loop (already found and edited for you) and throwing it in your song is pretty weak, especially when it's the main sound to your song. I think I have to agree to some degree that it is a pretty weak thing to do, especially when it's one of the main melodies of the song. I can understand using pre-made loops for percussion, guitar riffs or other shorter melodies. But dude took a looped sample from GarageBand and it's the hook of the song. :ermm:
