I just got Damnation in the mail today. It sounded like a good album but I was playing it in the background while reading something, so I wasn't paying much attention. For now I like Ghost Reveries better, but I'm going to give Damnation another listen a little later and see how it sounds then.

@Sykotic, I'll look into those albums you mentioned earlier when I get the chance. Thanks for the recommendations.

I'm upping this thread because I truely believe this is one of the most talented bands on planet earth. Mikael Åkerfeldt is a musical genius IMO. Haven't heard anything from them in a couple of years. Anyone have any info on what they're doing right now?

I've admitted this once before on here and I'll do it again. My appreciation with Opeth was very short-lived, and I actually find them incredibly dull. I'm not doubting their talent by any means, but they do nothing for me anymore (I like the guitar solo on Windowpane).

I don't mean to derail, but to answer your question, they have apparently released a single this year and will be releasing a DVD.
