I believe that aliens have visited earth in the recent past, and could be here right now. I also believe that the US government is well aware of this, and is keeping the information secret for two possible reasons.
First, it is necessaary to think of the economy, not just the US economy but the global economy as well, as a pond of still water. Anything that enters or leaves the pond water will create ripples that expand outward and end up effecting all portions of the water. Not only that, but the ripples can ricochet around the edges and one another to create even more waves. The larger the object that disturbs the water the larger the waves will be and the longer the waves will last. Now, many people who believe in UFO's visiting earth also believe that their technology may end humans dependence on fossil fuels. However, it is important to note that the business of fossil fuels, is a HUGE poriton of the economy. Even though the switch from fossil fuels to something less harmful would prove extremley benefical for the enviroment, it could create ripples that devaste the economy. Imagine if you read the paper tommorow to find out that you never needed to buy gas again, can you imagine how our economy and infrastruture would change? Drastically. This is one reason why I feel the US may be keeping this info secret.
On a more pessimistic note, if the NWO conspiracies are correct, the US may be keeping the info about aliens secret for now, in a ploy to later use the information to falsely unite the world in a war between earth and ET's. People would be willing to overlook a lot of changes if they believed it was in the best interest of the earth. This could speed up the process, and shroud the trasformation from the average person, of moving towards a NWO.
