i got tons of video games. starting at intellivision, to atari 2600, nintendo, snes, genesis, turbo grafix 16, gameboy, nintendo 64, playstation 1-2, xbox, gamecube, xbox 360

i cant name all my games

and on top of that i have hundreds of games on emulators on my computer

shit i got solo handheld games i completely forgot the name of

the first memory of video games was atari, like tank, football, all that shit, but if you want me to take you back, before video games, there was this metal thing, and on the top it had a football field, you put little football guys on it that looked a little like the old school army men..youd have defensive line quarterbacks etc etc. basically the shit vibrated, that moved all the football dudes across the board and some would fall, some would go without getting touched etc. if youre around my age (31) you may remember this prior to video gaming.

ill be into video games until i die, im amazed im not creating them or working for a video game company at this point

if you remember punch out in the arcade, and hearing "BODY BLOW! BODY BLOW!" shit like ridge racer, daytona 500, killer instinct, teenage mutant ninja turtles , sf2, etc etc at the arcade youre with me.

shit, we played marbles and pogs at the arcade.
thats where kids went to stay out of trouble. back then your parents could just go to the arcade and pull up on you. you were safe there.

bolded for one of my biggest regrets in life. I wish I studied some shit that would get me into the industry, but I'm trying to figure out other ways to get in.

I feel you on all of that, I remember being a kid when I saw arcade machines that was my high, always loved video games and still do till this day and will never change, ever.

when i was a kid, i used to send video game companies my ideas for games. i would get the address on the back of the video games, send a letter with a stolen stamp and letter from mom, i would literally give the game a name, the characters, what they would do, what the games about and like cool little things i thought the game should do. id send them like 3 pages. drawings on it, shit was prolly done in colored pencils/pens or something, i know at that age i didnt have the professionalism to just write in black ink, i probably had hella colors and funny drawings.

the one idea i remember, i had the idea for jet set radio/mack eckos grafitti game way before it became a game. but my vision was more like grand theft auto, with a majority role in tagging/painting in the game. you would just go around doing graffiti in the city. there would be pedestrians cops cars etc etc.

some would be like action games with a sole character that would either have special powers or was like a rambo mother fucker.

of course being a little kid i thought nothing about the fact that my ideas may have been used to make money, i literally just wanted the gaming companies to make what i wanted to play as a kid, and i felt that my opinion was super important as i loved video games to death.

i was probably literally ordering them to make the game like i said. how could they tell me no?

i really wish i had copies of the letters i sent, because i dont remember much. it was like "this would be so rad!" but i specifically remember mailing capcom, nintendo and konami.

thinking back, whoever got those letters was probably touched that a child took such interest in the way they created games and wanted to help, wage free.

before call of duty, there was rainbow six, halo, doom, how far you wanna go back? i played multiplayer games back when they were text based. they would have these rpg's on AOL where you paid like 20 dollars a month. youd have a character and youd go around merking shit to get levels up, you joined secret guilds, you could kill people but if you got caught doing it you went to jail, sometimes youd attack someone and theyd be hella leveled up and merk you in a funny way (break your legs and arms and leave you to bleed out in the middle of a forest as people pass by you and type "LOL")

apparently the game became literally bigger than AOL itself and moved to an actual website, where to my knowledge, people still pay monthly to play. it was liek called dragonquest or some shit, i dont remember at this very moment. about a year ago i wikipedia'd it, and the knowledge/history on it was pretty extensive. i believe they bottomed out at like 2.2 million players.

i dunno if anyone knows the game im talking about. like if you were injured like that someone had to 'drag you' back to town square where a medic would help you (medics hung around in time square to fix people and get theyre levels up)

like say your name is outcasted and you walk into the coordinate on the map i was at. you would see my name as well as yours. i could be like "attack outcasted' and enter and it swing at you with whatever weapons in hand. some people would hide and ambush you, some would try and steal, some people would just wanna fuck with you and go hunt on some team shit, some people were like mortal enemies in the game. they had people getting married on the game, like niggas would be in this game, like at a marriage. and youd type in like "say 'i do'" and your character says 'i do' there were bars and shit, people would drink beers and get drunk and stumble all around the bar and fight anyone. the shit was crazy, because for text based role playing it was literally realistic as fuck.

i forgot the name of the game but i played it for years

secret of mana and chrono trigger are my favorite rpgs

the above should say alot about my gaming

dope. ive contemplated sending my resume to rockstar...i hear they have a huge base in san diego, either that or they are actually centralized here

worked for sony, i didnt get to the gaming side, but that was my initial goal

eventually i probably will also go for my dream
ive almost done video game testing as a job because i like video games that much but the pay was too low, otherwise i wouldnt mind troubleshooting demos for 8 hours.

lol Stick HDDVD player
I just use it as a DVD player so the 360 doesn't have that extra use. It upscales DVDs very nicely.

Also, I forgot about my Genesis and PS collections that I have boxed up in the closet.

Sega Genesis

WWF WrestleMania The Arcade Game
WWF Royal Rumble
Tecmo Super Bowl
Tecmo Super Bowl III Final Edition
NFL '95
Joe Montana II Sports Talk Football
NFL Quarterback Club
ESPN National Hockey Night
Wayne Gretzky and the NHLPA All Stars
Frogger

Sega 32X

WWF Raw
Virtua Racing Deluxe
Moto Cross Championship
DOOM
NFL Quarterback Club

I had quite a bit more, but I had let my girlfriend (now wife) borrow some, namely Mortal Kombat II (best MK game ever) and Sonic Spinball, and I think her Genesis and games were in their garage when Hurricane Isabel hit a few years ago. Either that or she lost them in one of their moves.

Playstation

Interactive CD Sampler Disc Volume 7 (played Tekken II demo a lot on this)
Ball Breakers
Madden NFL 2000
Madden NFL 2001
Madden NFL 2002
Triple Play 2001
NHL 2000
Test Drive 5
WWF SmackDown! 2: Know Your Role
Driver 2

My brother and I had an NES and since he's a piece of shit, he sold or lost all of that somewhere along the way.

I'm sure wayyyy back in the day we had an Atari, but I don't remember.

I'm still pissed that I missed the entire Xbox/PS2/GameCube generation, but I feel like I've made up for it.
