Why do all Halo games look the same?
Because they have the same art style?

This isn't directed at you necessarily, but all the Halos don't look alike. I've seen so many people say Halo 3 is just halo 2 in HD or whatever, but that is so far from the truth.
the first halo game I played game was Halo 3. I wasn't impressed at first, but the more I played it, the more I liked it. I eventually played Halo: Combat Evolved and Halo 2 and it was jarring how much better Halo 3 looks.

EVERYTHING has so much more detail. The easiest thing to compare to notice the differences between Halo 2 and Halo 3 are Scarabs. The one in Halo 2 has so little detail it's ridiculous. Halo 3 Scarabs are miles better looking, and it's pretty much the same across the board, with the exception of human character facial models.

That trailer is so fucking epic. Halo: Reach is going to dominate.

Bungie’s Brian Jarrard has said anyone rage-quitting Halo Reach on a regular basis will find themselves punished.

“I think one of the new things people will be excited about is how we’re going to be able to penalise people who are habitually quitting out of games, which isn’t exactly cheating, but it creates a really negative experience for everybody else in the game.
“We actually have new tools now to detect that and eventually, people who do this habitually will actually be penalised. We want to be able to remove them from the population so they can’t make everyone else keep having a bad time.”

Ed Fries, the once vice president of Microsoft's game publishing division – and the man who had his hand in signing Bungie Software as a Microsoft first-party developer – has returned to his old-school roots with a brand new game: Halo 2600 for the Atari 2600, which premiered at the Classic Gaming Expo in Las Vegas this weekend.

Fries no longer works for Microsoft, but he has a long history in gaming: he was responsible for programming several games for the Atari 800 computer system more than 20 years ago. Halo 2600 is his first attempt at creating a game for the Atari Video Computer System, a console released much earlier than the 800, and considered a beast to program for due to its heavy restrictions and limitations.

The game started as a simple pet project to learn the system: Fries programmed a Master Chief sprite, had him move and shoot. But instead of calling it a day, he pressed on to make it a full-fledged game using the same limitations of most Atari 2600 games: create it using just 4 kilobytes of data. The game was to have a level that featured a driveable Warthog, but not only did it push the size of the game over the 4K limit, according to Fries it also wasn't that much fun to play. So he scrapped it.

Halo 2600 has a very "Adventure" feel to it: players control Master Chief in a non-scrolling exploration design. There are 64 "rooms" to explore with a variety of enemies to shoot, including a final boss – but first you have to find your gun. Energy barriers can impede your progress, but once you track down a key or take down enemies the wall will disappear and you can move on.

The final product was made available at the Classic Gaming Expo. Only about a hundred cartridges were made for this event – complete with a wonderful retro-modern label designed by Mike Mika from Other Ocean Interactive.

Halo 2600 is, obviously, not considered series canon, but the cartridge itself is quite the collectible and a cool homage to a fantastic series. The game can be played on any Atari 2600, and it's also been made available for online play at www.halo2600.com

I like hearing that. It sucks so much when someone quits, and then someone else quits and then one more quits and it becomes five on two or four on one or whatever.

Quitters are some punkass motherfuckers.

Never played a Halo game but I think I'll give this one a try. Is it going to be worth the $$??
It'll easily be worth $60.

The amount of features Halo: Reach has is second to none, and that honestly can't be argued.

Awesome campaign
Four player co-op (hardly any games even do co-op)
Balanced Multiplayer with new modes like Invasion (playlists are regularly updated)
Firefight 2.0 which will be fully customizable
Forge 2.0 (map editor)
Forge World (HUGE map)
Theater/Saved Films (save anything you want from any mode)
File sharing (maps that the Halo Community makes will be downloadable)
Credit system for unlocking cosmetic armor permutations (think CoD without affecting the balance of gameplay)
Weekly/Monthly Challenges
Multiplayer season mode

Seriously, show me a game that can compete with that list of features. Halo: Reach is going to be awesome and if you like the game and use all the features, it probably will give you the most value for $60. However, if you don't like the gameplay, then it won't really matter.

LOL if you think this shit is going to be like ODST you need to do some more research. ODST was just some shit they threw together for fanatics to hang on to until Reach. Shits going to revolutionize the way all games should keep stats.
I might be in the minority, but I feel ODST is an awesome game with a great story. Yeah it's short, but it's something different for Halo and the flashback missions are all pretty epic.

Then it has Firefight, which is just so much fun. Yeah the lack of matchmaking was a huge drawback, but it's still fun if you can get a couple friends on with you.

Also, Halo 3 has some pretty good stat tracking. Go to bungie.net and you can see stats for every game you've ever played. I know Reach is going to blow it out of the water, but I don't think there's another game with stat tracking as good as Halo 3's.
