What kind of history are you looking for anyway?

A team that has never won a superbowl? One that has...but only 1 or two? An old team...a somewhat recent team?

I suggest doing what others have said and watch each team if possible and choose one that you like.

If your basing your opinion on the name of the team...or what the jerseys look like...you might as well be a female.

Good point, the truth is, you have to pick a team you like based on a certain player you like, the style of play of a team, don't pick a team based on uniforms, that's gay. I picked my squad because of the defense they played and Walter Payton, Mike Singletary, Richard Dent, Dan Hampton, Steve McMichael, William "The Fridge" Perry, Shaun Gayle etc.

Well I stated earlier that I wanted a team with heart and that hits hard, I'm not picking the team JUST for the jersey but this does play a small part and so does the name..

I just finished reading up about the Saints, good that they stayed in new orleans. I quite like them but are they another bandwagon sympathy team because of katrina??

recently ??? the steelers are one of the few teams that have the 5 superbowl rings. they have alot of history to them. yea they won 06 bowl. but u cant really just pick out one team because u like their name or because theyre a good team or because u like their colors or some wierd shit like that. why dont u watch a season of football atleast to get an idea then decide. u cant really go on wut ppl think of a team becuase everyone has their own opinion on sports. and just because u dont live in that teams home doesnt mean u cant like them. u can have fam roots to the team but live somewhere else. not everyones a bandwagoner.

The Steelers are such an amazing team that some people have nothing better to do than needlessly talk shit on them! That's how you know they're good!

Hard hitting. Not the best team. But good. Great defense. And damn lovable like a Carebear or a Popple.

If you wanna fly out here I'll put you up for a week and show you how die hard the people are here about football when it isn't even football season.


And don't worry about being a bandwagon fan like all these people say. If you're picking a team out of the blue and you don't wanna pick the Steelers because you dont like their name, all the bandwagon arguments go out the window. Just pick the prettiest colored team!

haha sounds good, I'm flying up to Vegas for a couple of weeks at the end of the year so I might go watch an NBA, NFL and baseball game while I'm in the US.

Actually, I just thought of this. Go buy Madden 2008 and play it for about a month and then pick a team. That's probably your best bet this time of year.


You're welcome to stop out here. Kinda far from Vegas and the weather isn't as nice. And we don't have an NBA team. But we do have the most bridges in America. Which is...cool. I guess.

The Saints probably do have new fans because of Katrina…but I doubt it’s that bad. Cowboys and Steelers have a lot more bandwagon fans…for the simple fact that they win and the Saints don’t.

I’m not sure exactly what you’re looking for…but if you can’t watch a lot of games…I really do think the Jags are a cool team to follow. They are good team…they play tough…and if it’s what you’re looking for, their jerseys ain’t that bad.

They are a small market team…so they don’t get a lot of hype like some teams…and they haven’t been around that long…so they don’t have a lot of bandwagon fans.

I’m a Browns fan myself…but I do follow and like the Jags.

Ok, but the reason I dont like their name is not for the reason you think, its because down here (in sydney) we follow rugby league and my team are the Dragons (St George Dragons, aka 'The Saints') A few years ago we were facing extinction and had to merge with the Illawarra Steelers, since that day my heart hasn't been in it as much and I followed other sports.

So that is why I dislike the Steelers name.

^ Gimpy, you're one of the only two Browns fans I like (unless Bone likes the Browns)

@ Syko - We have the Pittsburgh Penguins. Sydney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. The future of hockey. (We also had Lemieux and Jagr back in the day).

This is a Football town first, hockey town second. Everyone gave up on our shitty baseball team and we don't have an NBA team.
