the first year reggie was GM was nothing but getting rid of out of whack contracts. There was no way the team could move forward like that. Even last year we still had a ton of dead money on the books.
There also was no real coach that would come here. Hue jacksons head was way too big to keep and really nobody wanted to come coach here.
the 2012 draft was horrible, but we didn't even pick till the 3rd round and reggie whiffed on all those picks, He did get king and streeter as UDFA, two starters. Maybe not streeter for most teams but he is a solid player and king gets better as a punter.
in the past two years he has drafted a few possible permanent starters. Hayden, Sio, Murray, Rivera, Carr, Mack, Jackson, Ellis. Possibly Watson and Carrie too. thats 12 if you include streater and king. You build from the draft not thru free agency.
no real big name FA wanted to come here. Brown, Penn, Howard, Jones have all been serviceable free agents signings. Tuck and woodson have been so-so, but huge in the mentoring aspect for the young guys. mjd, woodley, smith, rodgers and schuab have been horrible signing, but they are all team friendly contracts that we can get rid of next year with ease.
He has put this team in a good position to grow. He's slowly been building the foundation for the future, not just selling out to win a 8 games. This year would of been a whole lot different if Roach never got hurt. We've been in contention for more games then we've been blown out.
Reggie deserves at least another year
