This is the book that was bundled in with the Thug Angel box set... I forgot it was in there untill I was seriously bored three days ago and picked it up to read it.
After reading for an hour or so it was clear to me what this book was... It's just a social commentary on the plight of African American people with a picture of Pac on the cover and a few of his lyrics on the inside to sell more books.
Let me break down to you what the chapters say in a few easy steps.
"Childhood Chains, Adolescent Aspirations"
1. Dear Mama - Tupacs mom was a Black Panther
2. The Son of a Panther - Tupacs mom was a Black Panther
3. No Malcom X in my History Test - Tupacs mom raised a Black Panther, Tupac can read.
"Portraits of an Artist"
4. Give me a Paper and Pen - Tupac wrote a bunch of different songs
5. To All the Real Niggas Out There - This whole chapter is a history of the word "nigger" and how white people are evil
"Bodies and Beliefs"
6. Do We Hate Our Women? - Tupac was a hypocrite, and it's his moms fault
7. But Do the Lord Care? - Tupac loved god, and set himself up to be shot
8. I Got Your Name Tatted on my Arm - People miss Tupac
Things I've learned from reading this book...
•White people are the cause of ghettos
•White people make black people smoke crack
•White people make black people steal
•White people make black people rob
•There are no poor white people
•Mike Tyson wasn't a rapist, he was a misunderstood "serial buttocks fondler" (yes, that's a quote)
•The black panthers were no better a civil liberties advancement group, than the Manson family
Essentially, this whole book is a lot of yadda yadda with a lot of "white people are to blame" in between the lines and a little Tupac scribbled in the margin a bit.
I give it a big thumbs... just thumbs. Book sucked.
