I asked Al this in chat yesterday, but I question if the others will even be recognized by new fans. I feel like Tyler and Earl are going to be the face of Odd Future and none of the others will blow up as much as them when they gather "mainstream" appeal.

I'm interested to see how their success pans out. It's been a while since I gave a shit about an artist's following.
I agree.

lol @ Tyler on the NME video - "when i get rich i'm not gonna talk to any of these n*ggas. im serious" or something like that (referring to odd future)

I think minus Earl and Tyler that MellowHype has the most chance of getting a good amount of attention. Hodgy can spit and just seems to improve with every song he is on/they make and Left Brain is really talented behind the boards just like Tyler is.

eminem needs to sign these guys. dont know why he signed slaughterhouse and yelawolf.
these dudes are young and havent even reached their creative peak yet. the controversy alone would generate album sales. somebody is going to be smart and sign them and make a killin and make hip hop history. i'm with you nuttkase, i'm not understanding why they havent been signed yet.
I think the big labels probably don't know what to think of them yet. How would they market a kid (I'll just talk about Tyler here for a second) who talks about some off the wall shit but also raps about cereal and cartoons sometimes? You have to take more or less everything Tyler says with much more then a grain of salt. He talks about drug use a bit but in many interviews says he doesn't drink or smoke. He constantly says he can't wait to sellout but this is his big break and he far from did that. He dropped probably his sickest beat to date and the lyrics were just as dark as the other stuff he has said for the most part.

Back to the whole camp. I think one thing I find funny that a lot of people that are new/casual fans might not get is they all use lots of little inside jokes and disses about each other and the such. Right now no one new is going to know what the hell he is talking about when he spits the part about Sid in Yonkers.

Rasan as a producer what did you think of Yonkers on that level? How about as a song and as song/video? Just kind of interested because you seem to know the kids have talent and could make their mark but I haven't seen you say much about the actual music. I just want to get your 2cents on those parts of it all.

I agree.

Look at my above post. I honestly think he was just fucking around as he usually seems to be. Tyler is like the class clown who just happens to have a twisted mind as well it seems.

/end fanboyism

I said the same thing last night(gee what a surprise huh?), that Domo & Mike G would probably get overlooked because their content & delivery is more average than the rest.

the lyrical content is offensive at times for me since i'm a believer lol! but i appreciate the art and shock value.
as far as their production its very reminiscent to mid 90's hip hop imo, but with an experimental dark twist.
the video was a trip lol these niggas crack me up. then the nigga hangs himself at the end.
i would know exactly what to do with them: let them be them. dont try and change them. imagine if that yonkers song was on MTV2 or somethin? you know how many protests this would garner?!

I see somewhat of a resemblance. Very little though. Reminds me of when people were saying Earl looks like a baby Jay-Z lol

Buying it right now. I'm thinking they probably got a distribution deal with them, like lil b's deal. 3rd verse is cool, beat composition is slightly changed and makes it dope imo. He mentions brandun deshay at the start, adding insult to injury by leaving that part off the video. They have an extended version of sandwitches, someone else buy it & tell me if its worth it lol.

Damn his style on that last verse felt hella different than the other verses... maybe because I was slappin' the video version non-stop or something. Shit came out nice though.
