I was thinking of writing down what needs to be done and will not be done by the next administration, but I realized it will evolve into a multi-page article and the cost-benefit ratio of doing so (time it will take me to write it vs number people who will actually read and understand it on all the boards and blogs I will post it on) is not worth it

So you can't write it and this is your way of getting out of it. Or if you do decide to write it, you'll stop at maybe a page or two's worth of work and claim that it wasn't worth writing more when in all honesty you probably couldn't.

Great news! Finally a president that panders to the rich ruling elite and big business! Let's all party!!
Picture for yourself a man/woman with the capacity and the means to fix all of the problems with this country. I mean he literally has everything it takes to get the job done. I know it's hard to do, but for the purpose of this question, please try. This righteous leader, with the structure of our country's political system, do you honestly think he would make it anywhere near the whitehouse without catering to the rich and to big business? There is a great deal to think about here. And certainly I am not telling you that Obama is this person, but just think about it.

With Obama as president, a house and senate majority, and the chance to appoint some Supreme Court justices not named Scalia or Rehnquist, you guys gotta be crazy to think nothings gonna get done. Obviously, our government was created to be stagnant so mobs of stupid people wouldn't be able to change anything overnight, but at the very least the pendulum is gonna swing back the other direction. The way government money is spent, the way people are treated abroad, and the priorities that we give to our nation are gonna change.

Might not affect you and me on an every day level, at least not for a few years, but I'm optimistic. He's the best choice you can have in today's American political system. Which is kind of like saying he's the prettiest of all the fat girls. But its still nice.

I think the difference comes in terminology. Those of us with little to no expectations from an Obama presidency are looking for SIGNIFICANT change. Putting a new coat of paint on your house might “change” it, but it does not make that shit the winter palace.

The type of change this country needs Obama is neither willing nor able to achieve.

When you drive down the road you turn the wheel a little to the left a little to the right, but you keep going in the same straight line.

Ok no more analogies in this thread I swear.
