The Houston Texans have two of their key offensive players as game-time decisions for Sunday’s match-up against the Oakland Raiders.
Wide receiver Andre Johnson and tight end Owen Daniel are vital cogs to Gary Kubiak’s offense and their statuses can influence heavily the contest in Oakland.
“We’ll work them out Sunday morning and see how they’re feeling,” said Kubiak.
“I’ll go over to the stadium early,” Johnson stated. “I’m just trying to do everything I can to be on the field. I’m preparing to play.”
Dominique Barber will likely start for the Texans at free safety for Eugene Wilson, whose hamstring had him limited all week during practice.
For the Silver & Black, receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey joined the injury list with a groin strain.
Players questionable are: defensive tackles Richard Seymour (hamstring) and John Henderson (foot), cornerbacks Chris Johnson (ankle) and Jeremy Ware (ankle) and safety Hiram Eugene (hamstring).
OTHER NOTES
Darren McFadden tallied 357-rushing yards in 12-games in 2009. So far this season, the former Arkansas star has notched 345 yards on the ground.
It’s a lot of fun,” McFadden said after his performance versus the Rams. “As a running back you want to go out there and get the ball in your hands and do what you can do. It’s a lot of fun being able to carry the ball that much.”
One of the highest compliments dealt to McFadden was by Arizona defender Darnell Dockett. “I have great respect for that man,” Dockett said last Sunday. “That [expletive] runs hard. I mean harder than anybody I’ve ever seen.”
McFadden is known for his versatility. The Texans hot rusher Arian Foster, who earned AFC Offensive Player of the Month honors in September, is a work in progress per running backs coach Chick Harris.
“I think he could be complete if he works at it,” Harris said. “He has to continue to work at it. He has to be consistent. And consistency goes along with practice.”
