Camron represents gangsta rap now?

most mainstream rappers nowadays are mentally retarded, but there are many gangsta rappers with great lyrics (Pac, Cube, Raekwon, Nas etc)

Bill got the worst rapper he could find and attacked a whole genre

oreily is a narrow minded dick, however camron and dash did not come away looking positive. camron just straight up embarassed himself, acting like a fucking kid. dash definitely showed that hes a smart guy, but all he kept talking about was the business aspect and being an entepenuer. kids dont look at the business aspect of hip hop, they only listen to what the music is saying. and even if they did, only 1% of them would actually be successfull like dash.

heres the deal, damon dash is no different than ceos of any other corporations that exploit the underclass. he's selling music that promotes straight up ignorance. the way ppl are kept oppressed, is by being kept ignorant, and rather than sell music to empower his listeners, dash continues to feed them with nonsense hip hop. and he knows it, but hes a businessman and he knows what sells and what will continue to make him money, which is all hes concerned with at the end of the day. for him to say that he develops programs to help inner city kids, hes just trying to justify the fact that hes selling poison to the youth. the fact that walmart has charity events or what not, doesnt take away all the other ways in which it hurts the world. im not saying hip hops the sole reason kids are the way they are, but it definitely influences alot. the same way movies and just tv in general are negative influences, so is hip hop, and dame dash is contributing to it and making lots of money off of it - a true capitalist

i just have to say that even though carl winslow is right, cam'ron and damon dash had some good points...like o'reilly is just so fuckin smug and starts off on a bad foot, and HE HIMSELF SAYS "bitches" and cam'ron just throws it back at him. but i like when dash said "whose to say what dressing inappropritately is?" damon dash held his own.

edit: cam also had some good shit to say...its not his fault if these kids grow up a certain way. he may be an influence, but hes not the cause for them doing certain things. a principial and teachers and parents need to teach these kids too and help them out. thats what america doesnt get about education. we truly dont teach kids anything, we just rely on other people to do so and then blame it on them.

edit: again, cam was right when he said "if i have more influence then their parents, thats a problem."

I might sound picky and I`m definitely off-topic, but do you consider Nas as a "gangsta rapper"??

i dont really consider anyone a "gangsta rapper" although Nas did talk a lot of shit like that in the 90s

another example - Too Short, people consider him a "pimp rapper" but he talks gangsta shit too once in a while... i guess my point is there is no such thing as a "gangsta rapper" although rappers can rap about a lot of different topics including gangsta shit (contradicting my previous post!)

just watched tha interview. the way i c it, tha kids aint listenin to bill oreilly, they're not listenin to that principal, why? cuz they can't RELATE to em. so if damon or camron can RELATE to em by rappin tha way they rap, but in turn, givin bacc to tha community, i really don't c a problem. if camron switched up to rappin about stayin in school, and not doin drugs, and not cussin, those kids are NOT gonna listen, and camron would be in tha same boat as oreilly and that principal, so camron has about a snowballs chance in hell, to connect to em. they're givin bacc to tha communities. i understand wut u guys are sayin also, but rappers nowadays are givin hope to tha kids that there is a way out tha ghetto. i dont know if this is statistically right, but I'M sure theres more aspiring rappers out there, than there are kids robbin and stealin and shootin up shit. believe it or not, there are kids out there that listen to rap and let that shit influence em by not piccin up a gun, or piccin up an ounce, but piccin up a mic. hip hop has given MINORITIES, more oppurtunities to becoming successful (gettin out tha hood to becoming millionaires) than any other form of "employment". so fucc wut bill oreilly is sayin. and about damon dash sellin poison: at tha end of tha day, when it all comes down to it, it's all about ur family and settin generations, and generations of your family straight. fold.

kids in the hood have alot more potential to be great, rather than feel like they have to entertain ppl to be successfull. especially when only about 1% of them will actually make it big

and if its all about family, do you suggest parents not let their kids listen to the radio or watch mtv/bet? thats not gonna happen

its pretty sad when people their only chances of making money are through rap or sports. its actually possible (might come as a shock to some of u) to get good grades in school and get a scholarship to college. youre an idiot if u actually think youre going to make it in rapping. the chances are 1 in a 1,000,000,000

well the kids that are being so called idiots by your standards (still havent figured out how you can justify that statement, and why yur in a position to make the statement) are using their love for music to keep away from trouble, honestly, if making music is ALL about making it big to you, then you are fake, some people actually enjoy just makin music, might be a little hard to grasp for you, but ill throw it out there and let you try.
