I work with the Highway Patrol and one of the bomb squad guys said that a kid posted something on twitter about blowing up his school. They said within 10 minutes of that, they got a call from Virginia telling them which school it was and they needed to go check it out. That's pretty damn fast.

I wonder if he meant I'M GOING TO BLOW UP the toilet when I get to THE SCHOOL lastnight's taco bell did not sit too well.
I don't know exactly what he said but from what they told me, it sounded like sarcasm and they knew that but they had to respond. They weren't very happy about it.

I'm not doing anything of interest to the NSA so I'm really not worried.
Most people are not doing anything of significant interest, that is not the point though. What these government agencies like the NSA are doing is called data mining, and that happens to be the opposite of what the government publicly admits it is doing. The mistake we make as a people that endangers current and future generations is acceptance of unconstitutional actions, while allowing an international court to provide jurisdiction that circumvents the constitution, while using the term security as an excuse to carry out such actions. As pointed out in the video in the Oakland Surveillance thread, people begin to also do less things they are legally allowed to as activity surveillance is increased simply because people feel less comfortable. That is unacceptable and against the principles of so called freedom and liberty. This is not living; are we becoming robots?

NY doin that "stop n frisk" bullshit? The general public not worried tho cuz they're not "doin anything wrong", but what's good for the goose....

It's not Obama CAN NOW detain anyone, Bush was the one that implemented this with the Patriot Act but it was (whatever the political term for) re-signed. I've met a lot of people that agree with it which is mind boggling to me. I hate the Patriot Act personally.
