Nina Fuentes is a pig that wrote the book, for the rat's protection. I still need to check out some more of Monster's work.
I don't think there is a Nina Fuentes. I think it's a fake name altogether, and a word play in and of itself (note the initials).

Monster's book is one of the best written about west coast street life, if not the best, period.

Good point, because I have seen books get published w/o real author names.

I don't think Nortenos were even in SJ the years he talks about, but I only read a lil. They actually made some CD's.

I don't even think 14 existed in the pen back in the 1950's. It don't matter if he was talking about MF, because MF could have been around before 14 vs. 13. In fact I heard that hood was called Meadow Fair a long time ago. He probably became a Norteno tho. Back in the 1950's, it was like the pachuco days.

just because nortenos didnt start in the pen till the early 60s dont mean there wasnt any in the streets,
they were the kida pachuco fools and they banged the same hoods theyr banging now, san jo barrios have been around forever. dont matter when the shit became official in the pen. i said late 50s. what makes u think 4-5 years before homies started in the pen that they werent out in the streets?? stupid.
