nah...sane...i feelz wut ur saying...i mean...when it all comes down to it...i dont PAY for shit...the label copz the beats...i jus look at it like this

If i Order 1,000 cds the MOST ima make is 10,000...If I sale em for 10 dollars...But anyway who be out thurr selling thurr cd'z no...U aint always gettin that 10...So lets say...U make 6,000 and afta u look at the cost that it took to make the album...(studio time,printing,mastering)...Ur looking at a 3,000 Profit...and then U got a local Beat maker who wants to charge u a g or 2 for ONE beat...so now u got 1,000 profit...if ur lucky?..haha

I mean honeslty...i dont htink no one who orders 1,000 cds expects to really MAKE money off of it, its mo to get ya name out thurr...I wuz jus using those figures as a example...But i look at it like this...

and i dont kno...u say cats who are HUNGRY are gonna PAY them g prices...i disagree...them hungry cats are gon make them cheaper beats do the same thing them 2,000 beats do...listen to that new ghostface album...hez hella hungry...and he aint got no big name producers on thurr...

If i pay 50,000 for a jus blaze or kayne.,..that makes sense...cuz ima SALE that many cds...

but if for example...i give REDWINE 2,000 for a beat...can his beats gurantee me a return on my investment...

Reason cats charge so much for they beats is because they have a NAME...thats gonna bring u salez...

if u got a dre, or rza or track masters or hitmen or scott storch or timbaland or swizz beats...jus there name is worth the money...

but im not seeing cats wit that type of name thats jus gon bring me the sales that would make it worth payin that much for a beat

thats kinda like me...CHARGIN a cat to be on his album...haha..i dont kno...its all love tho

I have met redwine tho...and his beats are FIRE!!!!...I have to say...But i also met R.C...and his beats are FIRE!!!!...and he offered me beats for free...so i guess its jus a matta of opinion

^^ Its not even about names, really. Its usually, "Well, i produced tracks for C-Bo, Killa Tay and [blah blah blah], so i deserve (key word) to get paid 500-100 a beat." -- Resumes that can't and wont equate with sales.

""Nowadaze Producers wanna charge too much, But around my way thats how u get fucked up" -- every time that comes on BET or MTV, i make the punching motions...i cant help it!

LMAO@ everyone saying "its only a beat"......people dont listen to the radio for accapella's of people singing and rapping, half the time people dont listen to the words, there is a reason people SELL beats, and i think most of yall forgot, that a starving PRODUCER is just as broke and just as hungry as a starving RAPPER, and from where im sitting, since most rappers dont buy beats or dont feel they should have to buy beats, the producer is worse off because the producer spends alot of money on equipment. WAKE THE FUCK UP YALL. this is the main reason why 99.9% of the cats out rappin right now aint gonna get nowhere, you can have all the talent in the world, but nowadays talent is the last thing you need to make it big. and just remember, IF you make it big, its even harder to stay on top, and when you fall, its not just your family and friends that witness it, its the whole world. so be careful what you wish for, not everyone is capable of maintaining that kind of lifestyle.

Kanye was strugglin' and sellin' his beats for $50 before he hit it big with "H to the Izzo." He's an exception. It's rare for anybody to go from $50 to $50,000 a track overnight.

Alot of cats don't want just anybody rockin' their beats.....they figure that if you're willin' to pay their price then you must have some money behind you and the chances of their work being heard is actually higher than fuckin' with some low budget cats.

Ultimately though....this is a business and I'm tryin' to get paid. I'm not here to "help" every starving, strugglin' artist (remember, I'm one too!) who thinks he's the best thing since sliced bread. If that was the case......I would never make any money because everybody thinks they're hot and the next man thinks he's wack.

Another theory behind chargin' more money is.....it weeds out the idiots. You end up with an upscale exclusive customer base that is *serious* about the business and ain't one of these friday night, freestyle at parties with their friends, rappin' is really just a HOBBY ass clowns. I don't care how "tight" you are.....you can still be a clown. I know hella talented people who are just absolutely full of shit and don't have what it takes to make it this business. TALENT is not the magical key to success......there are other elements like AMBITION, DRIVE and DEDICATION with a dash of SACRIFICE that will be the real factors that get you to that dream. Talent alone WILL NOT get you there. People say everyday how "so and so is wack" and "he's not even that tight"......blah, blah, blah. You know why they're there? Because they have their business right......their mind right and are willing to do whatever it takes to get there regardless of their talent level.

Are you REALLY hungry? I haven't met too many rappers that are REALLY hungry enough to go out there and get it.....and the ones that I have are on my record label!!! HA!

Sorry......I guess I kind of went off. I just wanted to throw a twist in there and give you a different perspective. Peace.
100% Real Shit! Props to D-Sane for putting out the real!!

Mayne...

All I'm sayin' is if you can sell a beat for $1000 sell a beat for $1000.

If you can't buy a beat for less than $1000, buy the beat for a $1000.

I bet all the hungry cats can find a beat for under $500 that really knocks.

Who knows though.
